Darn. I was hoping to go to the awards stuff that night. If I decide to do that, maybe I'll swing by after and see if people are still hanging around.
If it's anything like the last few years, people will be coming and going all night. The 5:00-9:00 time is the time we've booked just for Polycount people, at 9:00 they open the doors to everyone so it will might be a lot harder to get in, but I imagine plenty of Polycounters will be there, unless they kick us out or something.
We've got a proper venue and everything this year, hopefully we can share the details soon!
Last year was a lot of fun. Also we owe a couple of drinks to some people, so it'll be fun to pay them back in kind.
We've got a booth running with some niffty Kinect/Oculus based demos, so drop in and say hi! (Opaque Multimedia and Kinect 4 Unreal - I'm not sure where the booth is but we have a couch and that is what counts).

I've missed the Polycount meetup two years running - third time's the charm this year. Also thanks for posting about the art direction boot camp, looking forward to checking that out.
Flying home last year I ended up sitting next to another environment artist with a beautiful portfolio. I love that kind of stuff at GDC.
My caravan has space for 3 more people in our hotel reservations. The cost will definitely be under $250 for 8 days if you join, and much more cheaper if we find three other people.
I will vouch for my caravan, we are very cognizent of respecting each other and enriching each other's experience during this week. We are also bringing food and transportation. And a bagpipe.
Man, i'm so incredibly jelly. I'm sitting here on the other side of the world hearing about this convention knowing i can't get there. Need to get job in America ASAP
I will be there all week and will mostly be found at the Unreal Engine booth. Will try to drop by the meetup also! If anyone wants to meet up just let me know or drop by!

More like 3/4s day, if it's like previous years. Expo closes at three instead of six.

Where in the world is an In N Out in Downtown San Fran? Lol
At the Fisherman's Wharf, there is an In N Out burger. I think it might even be 24 hours.
There's also one in Milbrae, if you're coming into the city from the south, which is substantially cheaper.
I've updated the first post to include this and PC meetup info.
