It's rare that a single feature makes or breaks a game. Especially in a franchise as storied and well known as CoD.
Thanks for your input nl. Ghost didn't survive over-creamed exoskeleton art styles, the ability to fly in a FPS didn't worked too much for Titanfall either. It as to do with aiming a target in midair on a domination map. Your brain will tell you at a point in time "enough".
i like the comparison everyone makes about AW being like titanfall.. the typical "this is just titanfall without mechs." But clearly everyone failed to realize that titanfall was just Call Of Duty.. with mechs. :P

except titanfall added jetpacks and wall running and a scifi feel, most of which are in the new call of duty ( which I think is awesome )

ill give you the jetpacks thing, even though what AW has is essentially a glorified double jump rather than a jetpack (minus the hover ability which i guess is more similar to halo than anything else), but wall running isnt a thing in advanced warfare. i havent personally played titanfall so i cant really speak about it as far as gameplay goes, but im sure its fun, and im sure the mechanics are great for what they are.. but at this point in the life line of video games its hard to say any one thing is completely original anyway.
Titanfall still looks, feels and plays like Call of Duty, right the way down the HUD and everything, with the killstreaks and what-not flashing in your face every so often.
Everyone forgets about Hawken when talking about mechs . The side (air) dash may have been borrowed from the Hawken update a year or so ago, unless that feature was implemented early in the COD dev cycle.
Felt sort of burned by ghosts, but I'll be damned if I'm not getting excited about AW. Love some of the designs I've seen, can't wait for the art dumps.

Regardless, looking forward to this.
Hawken to me felt like a dodgy and awkwardly paced Unreal Tournament. It's kind of funny. The game wasn't bad at all, but I struggled to get into it.
I'm happy that some of you have such open minds. Maybe this is the future of FPS who knows, i'm anticipating something that will rivet my popo to my chair. I too am looking forward for this one.
I'm still waiting for the day when either of the two dev teams grow a pair and gives us a COD game with an engrossing story featuring WW2 from the German/Italian/Japanese point of view.
Given that it took 6 COD games before we finally got blood and dismemberment, I won't be holding my breath.
speaking of facial animation, I wonder why the capture technology in La Noire isn't used widely? I've heard it's got a lot of limitations but it works perfectly in that game.

It's looks as good as video of the actor's face projected onto a model would look (oversimplifaction, but you kno), and just about as flexible. It's not used because... Dude, I'd have to explain the process from beginning to end to explain all of its drawbacks, because the whole method is one huge drawback.
All I know is 100% hand-keyed facial animation by a competent animator usually > captured facial performance
Definitely skipping BF: Hardline, in favor of this. Tired of the constant issues with the EA servers and bugs. Started out with LAN parties of COD 1 back in the day (and Quake/DOOM before that). Can't wait.
Am I the only one who is totally irked by the weird-ass bounce moonjumping all over the place?
What the fuck.
I love the C.O.D serie, my only worry is what will happen to people like me that want realistic tactical warfare on foot ? what if they scrap the entire conventional gameplay ?
Hmm. I feel like the past few CODs already did away with the realistic tactical warfare on foot. Now they're just expanding on the idea of a arcade shooter. I'm sure that there will be other games to fill that spot if there is demand.
According to recent info, there is a dedicated Classic game type playlist in which all the exosuit abilities are turned off. Fun for everyone !

hhmm i get the gist of your statement, but imagine if every COD game from now on will only be played with a mandatory jetpack whether sledgehammer or Treyarch makes it. This is a big loss for some fans like in my case.
Still torn between getting this or Farcry 4 for now, the Multiplayer in Farcry 4 looks like a lot of fun so want to give that a shot. Still, this looks like a blast
as we get closer and closer to day zero and my excitement keeps building more and more.. i may keep spamming this thread here's our live action trailer that just dropped today.
All CODs are expensive, so i don't care paying for them in pre-purchase. At the end, i just buy cods for their single player campaign, my internet connection sucks.
a bit of guilt for my anti-consumerism persona but so far how many of you are going for day 1 release buy ?
I'm going to wait to see a few reviews come out. I'm very tempted but waiting a few days won't kill me. I'm also worried about how the PC port will run. From what I remember Ghosts ran pretty poorly on PC. 1 less distraction from making art I guess

This may be the first CoD game I'm looking forward to since I learned I could play Richard Nixon in BOps.

Good luck Call of Duty, some risky moves here.
Glad I am not the only one that feels this way.

I still wish they had a TV ad with Jonah Hill in an exosuit
Didnt touch an COD since 2007 ? - dunno,
its long time ago.
