Chai - Thank you so much for taking your time to critique that piece, you just blew my mind with your feedback! I'll definitely take those points on board - thanks!
Hey muuuuuzzzz, dude that mech shape is so solid, loving it !
Solid stance, good comp with the wires and door.
Hope you don't mind a crit ? just disregard if you do ...
Rendering/lighting seems kinda bland, does no justice to that solid design imo.
Did a quick tweaks for some tones & help bring it more to life, dunno maybe it's just me ...
DKK: We'll see what the new year brings! Recently left my job at the machine shop in pursuits to find a more creative job.
In terms of colour it's become more of a gut "feels right" type of thing. Though I really love the split complimentary and a mixture of analogues to give myself more colours to play with.
I love playing around with saturation a lot. So I may have colours verging close to gray, then throw in a vibrant colour to make it pop.
But a lot of it was through trial and error, I've made so many horrible colour choices(imo) that I've created my own colour relationships in the process. So my suggestion would be play around and experiment
allan-p: brillant work, you have definately have got the eye for color : )
Muzz: really like the rendering on that mech, super well done!
as for color and design, I am open to suggestions, I'm working on the riot contest, I am going for a 80s style katarina from leagues of legends. I will probably have to throw a walkman somewhere in there :P, here is what I have right now, drop me a line if you've got suggestions : http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144161
allanP: Some nice works there! Really like them!
Vman: What was the assignment exactly? Was it really 'Make a concept for an existing IP? Seems awefully vague. But its looking good, some perspective issues here and there, but going strong!
Muzz: cool Mecha!
Some workflow exploration and photobashing. Putting panels on panels on stuff!
Some content was released today for the game, Sins of a Dark Age. Here's my concept art for the new king leaf scorpion that can now be summoned in the jungle.

That's pretty much it. We had to think up how it'd work as a game, be it a 3d action game, or a 2d platformer, etc etc. But past that it was a fairly free form assignment. Either way, thanks for the feedback!
Here's my latest value painting...undecided if I want to add color or not, but I may experiment to see if it'll end up with a more intersting image. This is a scene from The Silmarillion where Ungoliant, an enormous spider, threatens Morgoth, the antagonist of the book, when he refuses to give her the Silmarils, jewels she helped him steal.
Hey, looking like a good start Highelf! I like the boar on the left, looks already good and convincing!
I don't like the two tigers doing exactly the same. They are just boring. If you want multiple tigers in there, show what they are there for. One can show how he jumps and the dude on top waving his sword. Another one could already be fighting. Use that one to show how tiger and rider interact to fight.
I also did paint something. A japanese garden, its just so relaxing to paint stuff like that and I really like the idea behind them.

A couple of pixar/monkey island inspired characters, thinking of turning them into 3d too..
edit: did some updates on the last one.
Just a little drawing from a concept I pulled from Pinterest. Completed in about 3 hours.
Comments and critique welcome
Sorry folks, wrong topic
And here's the next one!
Agree - so much good work. And thank you!
I like your characters, especially the pirate one!
A few more mood/color/lighting studies:
This one is heavily inspired by Syd Mead`s superb works:
I wanted to draw a character of mine but then it turned into practice on hands.
Comments and Criticism welcome ^~^
This is my take on Frankestein, hope you ilke it!
Despite his savage looks is a very frienldy guy with lot of deep feelings.
Cheers!
Tired of looking at this.
I am already seeing some issues to fix up but you are right i should wait a few days.
Thanks!

Some robot thingy. I think he wants to play fetch.
edit: Did this late night master study, but from another angle than the original. It was a fun experiment, might do more like this in the future.
