I have been trying to get back to health past few days as ive had a poisonous spider bite right below my eye (not fun at all I assure you lol)
Changed my setup a wee bit got some of these mounting arms for my dual monitors which are fantastic so it frees up all the space under the monitors has doubled my desk space and you can bring one infront of the other easily etc.
I've been trough a wide variation of chairs due to my back problems. This one has served me well for over 2 years now and have never been so satisfied with my investment.
Might not be the best when it comes to comfiness, but keeps my posture good and prevents me from slouching in my chair.
Dell Precision running Windows 8 with a Samsung 30" monitor and Beyerdynamic headphones on a sunny summer morning in Shanghai (I left out the crappy ViewSonic monitor)
i notice a few people here aren't using IPS monitors...
if anyone is interested i'm selling a Dell U2312HM, no dead/stuck pixels, original packaging, not much use. no dings/dents/scratches or anything.
i'm UK based btw, so international would probably cost too much.
I might get it off ye when I move to Guildford some time in the coming weeks if it's still available - got two Ultrasharps and I could use a third one, heh.
Older pic; but basic components are still there (though desk is facing the other wall now). Also of note: I still have the Logitech MX Revolution (bluetooth); I DO NOT recommend it. Way too many issues with connection, and the one I have now is a free replacement of the first (Logitech does have great customer support).
Looks awesome reminds me of a place I used to live which was run down and we would draw on the walls like full crimson knights from the star wars Extended universe.
that and it looks like wario is going all hitman style garroting peach.

Not often a man with three degrees has his own wizard hat.
Only have two degrees, I'm afraid; nothing to do with digital art. Most of the things up on the wall and shelf are Military-related. The hat is from a visit to OktoberFest, quite some time ago; when we were stationed in Germany. The little bundle hanging on the wall, on the right, is 550 cord; for those who know what it is.
I always enjoy these threads, very interesting on how people set up their workstations/environs.
it gives you more space, thats literally the only thing
you can have one screen for uv´s, the other for the model
you can paint textures on one and check the result in marmoset on the other
have a concept art opened in one, model on the other
Or with UDK, the huge ass material editor in one screen and the scene in another. Actually most 3d apps have settings to take advantage of dual monitors. But the main advantage is you don't have to alt tab between different programs as often.

good for tutorials too or watching a video in your peripheral while you work.
its great for tons of stuff, and general browsing, id check out your local pawn shops etc for 2nd hand monitors my first 2nd monitor was a 17 inch dell and got that for 35 quid, its not gonna be the best but it will probably do the job, worked for me.
Is that a hackintosh? Looks like geektool running, I wanted to setup date/time/clock for windows but can't find anything similar for windows, rainstep or whatever was kinda lame for me..
I'm not hating, my loft is IKEA furnished because it has a tight spiral staircase. It's easier to just pass the parts through the railing from the floor below.

It's not a Hackintosh, I'm actually running Windows 8 :poly141: When I just had a laptop, I tried out a similar setup to OSX with the task bar at the top and dock at the bottom, where I have my main apps and a folder to my art programs. Everything else I run from the Windows key and typing in the search.I'm used to it now and prefer the cleaner look. For the desktop, I hide all icons(right click> view>show desktop icons). For the widgets, it's just Rainmeter. SimpleMedia on the left screen, Small Drives on the right for the icons to my hard drives, and then weather text on the bottom right that I just modded myself from a random theme.

Black one is a headphone DAC (nuForce uDAC-2), silvery one is for the crappy Logitech speakers.
I like the AK

This is sort of an old pic, actually. Doesn't have the big ass Cintiq in there. Or the horrible mess...

I have almost 4k square feet in my house and this is the area my wife gave me for work.

let's start a kickstarter.
if you pledge more than 25 bucks you get a fridge magnet. 45 or more a dead mosquito tightly wrapped in a penis-like box.
