well to be honest the frame rate was kind of crap at first. so i gave everything a good slather of arctic silver. now it runs like a hot knife through butter.
it would actually be neat to have this old system, fit in some modern hardware along with a mini bar
OH NO!, systems like that have to be preserved, so people can see where stuff came from, when doing a minibar computer combo that looks like this i would built one from scratch with plywood and aluminium,
because that would be twice as cool
(and probably less hazardous, since one knows shit about chemicals in old hardware)

haha. true, if they still run. I got a running Amiga 3000 at home. Won't let anyone make a mini-bar out of it...at least not while it still works. But it's too small anyway
slipsius, I keep switching chairs actually. I kept this one because it doesn't make my back sweaty but it gives me quite a shoulder pain if I work more than a couple of hours. It seems like I'll get one of these eventually.

if your having back or shoulder issues one of these might do the trick, dunno about your chair specifically though but you can pick these up usually for 1-5 bucks and they can make a crappy chair great.
I adjusted the chair for comfort, those cushions on the arm rests are meant for a bench in the yard, they level off my arms resting comfortably aligned with the keyboard, mouse, tablet.
I love that chair, best decision even though I would rather have a standing desk, I'd live longer I hear.
Nice setups gents, you guys are also photographers or something? You full of talent s.o.b's.
Sitting in front of Desks? Chairs? You guys are doing it all wrong.
I sit on my bed and use my Tv for a monitor. Only ever use the computer chair as a foot rest. If I ever get an in-studio industry job I'd probably have to request a bed to sit on. Haven't sat at a desk and used a computer in a long, long time.
hopefully come tomorrow there will be 2 brand new turntables and a mixer sittin there too not looking forward to that bill. my wacom is safely tucked away somewhere.
Hayden Zammit, sculpting with that setup would be really fun but I'd probably keep falling asleep, sculpting in my dreams and waking up to find out I haven't done any real work :P
Trust me. You'll never regret it. (I went through 3 Rocketfish MP's back in the day watching the control surface wear out, and then the smooth surface getting sweaty and losing precision)
Here's mine. The PC, a 6-core i7, is tucked under the desk while the 5.1 speakers are around the room. Apart from that, nothing special. Intuos4. Cintiq. 3 styli. A bunch of flash disks. A printer/scanner. A small handful of my figures. A Freddy Krueger doll. And a lot of junk cubbied away.
wow Dataday, I really like the concept of having an overgrown desk with so many plants. Might need to do that....
Thanks. I found that greenery and other such natural elements generally lead to a more positive and stress free work space.... plus its a great way to hide all the cables.
You probably need a UV light, to keep your plants alive. I suspect they don't get much sun on your desk, which is probably why they kept dying
I agree, though, I like the added greenery to the desk. I'm about to transition my home office to a different room, and I'll probably be buying a new desk (which is partially why I peaked in here). Now I may look for a desk with planters

Haha, Yeah I could have done that...but the dying plants was just an excuse to avoid actually having to water live plants near all the tech and power cables. The last thing you want to be is that one guy who managed to kill a new cintiq 13hd because it got wet.
Bamboo plants are a bit easier though. They can be kept in nearly sealed bottle like containers... and you get to see them grow every day. Something nice to notice when sitting down at a desk.
Good luck on finding the right kind of desk.
Here's another angle which reveals more of the desk.
And a lower quality pic with the cintiq on a different unseen desk. Notice the chair warmer.

The board is just a chunk of $10 showerboard from a hardware store; One of the most useful things I've ever had.
graphics card is a bit dodgy but it runs zbrush just fine.

you can make a mean grilled cheese sandwich on tape bay1 but it does not quite boil water for ramen sadly.

Dat Mournhold map. Good on ya. My elder scrolls maps are all in tatters, except for the copies that are still sealed in their box, haha.
Here's mine:
Pic is a few months old. My desk is more cluttered now and my bookshelf is now full.
i have no doubt this is 100% accurate
except now with papers, empty chip bags and cup marks everywhere
Another Actual lighting, blurry .

Ditch the Rocketfish and grab one of these.

Took a picture anyway, so might as well bump this thread I miss having a second monitor

About 70% of the plants on the desk come from Ikea, they dont cost much.

The real bamboo plants can be found there as well.
I found Home Depot has some great wood elements that look like this http://buyosphere.com/media/image_cache/products/images/image_5208_280x.png

EDIT: Just noticed 4 months later I copied the non-public link...

Yah I'm quite fond of these Samsung monitors
Also it looks like your desk has crossed legs, whereas mine are just boring straight legs :P
One thing I learned from this thread is that.. I'm surprised how good plants look around the desk lol.
