Hey NegevPro, thanks for posting that video up of Ken the quadriplegic gamer. I had no idea they have a device people can play games that way.
I've just shared the video with my neighbor who is a quadriplegic and confined to a wheelchair that he controls with his mouth. This might inspire him to look into that device to play games, maybe even some games I've worked on.
So thanks!
Man that Ken vid is fucking awesome. I would love to see a similar thing even just for the elderly, there's so many that just give up on life in their old age.
Not necessarily a 'feel good' experience, more comical than anything: Happened to be in town so went to Game today to trade in an older game for store credit. To the sales assistant's horror, the trade price came up on the till as 'ยฃ999,999.00'
That video of Ken made me feel good in what a great attitude and comeback the guy has made.
It kind of inspired me to view video games in a different light beyond the normal social entertainment and my pleasure in creating things.
Hopefully there's at least a few studios who keep such things in mind, such as Valve's research into alternate controllers. It kind of adds a little bit of a noble touch to game development in bettering the quality of life for others and creating more experiences to be shared with one another, if you get my meaning.
A co-worker found this spider in a junction box so I just had to check him out. I think it's a funnel web or grass spider (non-venomous). He bit me after thirty seconds but my gloves kept him from doing any damage.

For its time Halo was so good. I used to play Marathon back in 1994. I really enjoyed reading about Bungie's next game Halo but playing it went beyond what I thought was possible, good memories!
Started replay of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. I already played all other games at least twice, now it's time for Black Flag playthrough in preparation for Rogue and Unity.
32 gigs back from RMA so my machine is back up and running after near a month (was going a little stir crazy), now to shake off the rust and make some awesome stuff!
That someone can spend this amount of time writing about kojimas girl characters http://srholiwell.tumblr.com/ and that he can still answer with quiet. Thank you Kojima, don't you ever stop you brilliant bastard!!!
Finally replaced my old, OLD, Wacom Graphire tablet for an small Intuos tablet! Yay... Now there is just a slight glitch. It was a week late, and I sent a e-mail today to Amazon about it, and then went to work. And behold! It arrived at lunch, so real happy.
However ran into a little issue, because Amazon had replied on my e-mail in the meanwhile, and they are sending me another package for free, because "my package might have been lost".
As the good guy I am, I went straight into Amazon website to cancel the order since I did get it... But I can't! The page refuse to cancel the order, no matter what I do. Why, whyyyy the temptation! So cruel!
...god damnit... *press the new mail button*...
EDIT: Actually managed to get the cancellation page to work now, had to cancel each item in the order, one by one. Ah well. I got a new tablet!
Bought this and a few other original F&F books at a local market. Haven't had this since it was my favourite book at about 12yr old. (26 yrs ago... OLD!). Gonna have to buy them all me thinks!
There's a local studio here who have the rights to develop all of the Fighting Fantasies, along with a bunch of other game book series, for the iPad. I haven't had a chance to try them, but they generally get a pretty good wrap if you're feeling nostalgic for the early 90s. http://gamebookadventures.com/

That was amazing I'm guessing fake...but still amazing
It's amazing what kind of effects videogames can have on people, even if the developers of the games don't realize it!
I successfully exported a mod map I made with friends in 2003 (for UT2003) to UE4 this morning. That map gave me my break into the industry back then.
We're going to get together again to re-create the whole thing. Yay!
