Made a mini tut while experimenting with how I'll create my background buildings for my environment. works pretty well! hope this is useful to someone.
Still working on this guy, as I stated before he is heavily inspired by the feeder from Dead Space, kinda wanted to do something different with the textures though.
It has been a while since i've actualy posted something. This final has never seen a thread before so i would like to share it, it is probably one of my favorite pieces i've work on due to how much i've managed to learn from it. I spend way more time on this piece to get it to a decent level and experiment then to build multiple quicker scenes. I think therefor there is not too much i want to fix.

I like that a lot more than the last one. The one thing that still irritates me is the realtime relfections from Cryengine 3.4 (it looks like youre using it). If you switch to 3.4.5 it might look better. Or is it. I can't tell right now.
Good work!
This is my current W.I.P, and my first post on polycount. It is a DTA-SRS-A1 with Magpul and EOTech attatchments. I'm about to call the highpoly finished, and move on to the low and normal baking process. Critiques are always welcome.[/IMG]
You guys are really good with your hard edged zbrushing, i need to up my game. (off to find some tuts...)
lol
Here is some UDK Virtual Reality Myst Island progress!
Playing around tonight, I somehow started making a sci-fi art-deco-ish door.
Probably will go forward with it. Maybe make a scene? I don't know, it's 3 in the morning, so I'll decide that later.....

Got any cool breakdown shots of that scene that you want to share? Would be really nice. Thanks.
Alex, ya i used 3.4 for this, the reflections still have some artifacts and the overall spec/glossyness of the materials could have been balanced better, i did not spend a whole lot of time on defining surfaces, i will pick up on that next time with a full environment.
brygelsmack, you will have to wait a little longer for Vertex 2 to come out
I got so pumped and made another fanart. The Dev team looks cool so any kind of 'promotion' I can offer to their project seems a deal to me. Fun characters to riff off.
Thank you once again Dado, your illustrations are absolutely fantastic and they lift our spirits each time
Finally calling this scene done, ive finished it a few weeks ago however I spent the majority of January working on a full breakdown for the Vertex magazine (book..). Cross posting from my full thread like a bawse!
I think that's his clay Mental Ray render.... I think the marmo one isn't showing up, or something.
oh man! you 're right! i don't know why but today i can't see my realtime render image!
mmm ok here it is again and sorry for the multiple post.
btw Welles great work on that empire steam tank!
and Luke_starkie nice progress with that guy , love the face!
cross post from the weekly 'Art Jam,' here's my Catwoman
Nice, but the sharp crease on the inner curve of her breasts makes it look like she has weirdly placed implant scars. I would recommend smoothing that out completely.

Painting practice in my spare time...
I. LOVE. THIS.
Some of the edges may be too sharp, or some details too small to bake well (not sure), but it's something to keep in mind.
also crosspost (but shhh) http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=102787&page=3
also the mesh is a little dense in areas but i havnt been through to clip it yet
