Hey guys has anyone tried creating custom pfx for any of their items sets? As far as I know theres no option in the importer for bringing them in. But I thought someone might have created and overwritten default pfx and re-compiled for the test build, or something to that extent.

not yet, im wating for the texture on the wings to make a new test, but im probably going to the wings on the ground to make it the most different as possible from the lone druid´s panda

take care to not exaggerate on the whites and blacks, and always works thinking on the dota camera angle, i had this problem with my gatuja, it looks much better from the side then from the upper angle =]
I remember OD's provided masks being a bit wrong, but it sounds like you've already figured that out. When you say shine are you referring to specular or the pulsing green glow effect?
The pulsing effect is uv directional, so if it's not showing up correctly try rotating your uv chunks to correct it. If you mean specular, try adding some metalness to the shader to increase the specular effect.

I was referring to the specular and the blue edges. Took your advice, and it appears the metalness is responsible for the shine (that's going to be annoying to figure out), but still nothing on the blue; I'll try to have everything done tonight so I can provide the info for any future OD cosmetics!
@I-ninja there might be a vertex weighted or parented on a wrong bone. Try to delete the vertex groups and reparent the proper bones, and then clear out the weights and repaint it.
I'll guess I can delete the rig and do it all over again (for the 4th time)
Hey ninja, what if you go for more bigger ear protectors? they look like headphones for me. i think its a good idea to avoid that based on the natures prophet glasses that were rejected by valve

Finally got my courier in game for testing! Many hours fiddling with files n folders but its there! *yay* Now I can work on the run cycle that appears to be too slow and the wings death animation that lands far too high off the floor ...
Just a thought here- does anyone have control over the first post here (can they add new tutorial links)? Or can we have a thread dedicated to just dota2 tutorials that have been made?

Dress still need some work on its texture, primary masks.
Wings has no material yet, but im planning on making them dark, even though the bright wings looks cool in some way.. they are probertly to sweet for QOP.

Since theres no slot for body, I've attached the dress to shoulder, which is ok, because it looks stupid with shoulders.

Since nobody did it, I feel it's my job to hurt your feelings a little. I don't know much about QoP's model but if there isn't any body slots that's for a reason: they don't want you to dress her up. She's the symbol of lust, she has to be sexy and your dress is currently in the way (and it only covers the bottom half of her breasts which is distracting). Since she is some kind of succubus, giving her butterfly wings also probably wouldn't work (even if they are black) but that's just my opinion.
I-ninja: What you have currently is pretty cool but I agree with Tvidotto, you should really push the silhouette of the designs and exaggerate more. Dota stuff is so zoomed out, you gotta have a lot of silhouette and contrast.
I gotta stop pulling all nighters each time I want to finish an item. I made a square texture for a slot which is non square 2:1.
pro tip: read the requirements thoroughly
pro tip #2: if you screw it up like I did and finsh your texture before realizing it, just scale your texture to from 1024x1024 to 1024x512... It's going to be downscaled some more anyway, and the engine takes care of the rest.

Hey There Frump!! My eyes like what they are seeing It's some mesmerizing stuff you got there:poly142:. The only thing that is causing me some noice is the hairline. At that distance, to me it looks like if it is some sort of wig. I have done a little paintover in the hope of making my point clearer and to give you a suggestion. But IDK maybe is just me. Is it better to downsize your textures to the required resolution before submitting, or just submitting at the resolution you've been working on them (and it does the resizing in dota)?

@Anuxi - It looks awesome, but it's very conventional and seems a bit plain from game cam. Maybe try adding a literal splash of color with some blood being on the axe or some green goo or something. I think that would spice it up.

@Anuxi - That Axe is so beast. My favorite of your solo items by far. I can't wait to get it in-game.
@HatPoweredSpyCrab - That hair draws so much attention to the neck as is, which looks really weird because of the gills. Normally it's just a small detail that fits her head, but with this style of hair it's feeling really out of place to me. I like the style of it though!
On a side note, lots of concept art popped up for some of the upcoming heroes. Legion Commander is looking pretty awesome as a female. Album

Cool idea for a weapon, the only changes I would make are to keep the pointy end of the anchor worn/shiny like it's been used a fair bit as a weapon and I would make the rest of the metal darker/less reflective to appear rough..would need some normal mapping there?. maybe some green where it's been sitting and rusting away.
Was wondering if those who have already been successful with getting your submissions selected (way to go!) what forms Valve requires you to submit? Do they take a long time to retrieve (from the government, etc)?
Frummi, I think it would be worth faking/photoshopping the particle effect on the sword, as the first comment echoed my question, "what is that thing" it does look like an error at the moment! Apart from that, looks great!
