kite212: you baked only half of the cape , so the normals arent the same after u weld them back .
baked the entire cape with offset uv's, even redid this process about 3 times to ensure everything lined up, and the imported mesh and baked mesh have the same normals. If this was the case there should be a seam down the entire center, but its just that small top part
Thanks, but as i mentioned earlier I am having a real hard time believing this is an issue with the normals. The mesh was baked with offset uv's, and the seam is only visible at certain angles and it does not run down the entire seam. Given that it is only happening at certain angles, and is not noticeable while actually playing, I will sadly be saying fuck it, as i have already wasted so many hours on it, and I will be taking my chances with it :poly122:
Are you sure its not by tomorrow meaning anything uploaded before the 19th? Or do you know for sure that we can upload our items on Monday itself and they will make the deadline?
Because if Monday uploads are eligible I could stand to get some sleep sometime soon lol
Edit: Does anyone have any tips for how best to retopo areas that I am going to use as flat alpha maps(for example extraneous strands of hair or little trinkets). I haven't really worked with much alpha before, but I'm assuming I just make a flat plane over the correct angle of the intended alpha zone to bake the information onto said flat plane? Is there anything else to know?
@kite212 You could try to use handplane just for this normal map and see if it will give you better result. Most certainly it will as it is synced with source engine normals. Also you can use fbx you will export to dota anyway so well worth a try

I already use handplane for everything, I am truly baffled by this and spent way to many hours trying to fix it, so I will just be taking my chances with it as is :poly122:
Speaking of which, here it is, image links to set:

I always thought that deadlines on a specific day means "that day included". So i'd say that the 19th is also a viable day for submission yes.

Cool, thanks. I also went ahead and looked at some of last year's entries. Several of last year's winners submitted their sets on the day of the deadline, the 20th. So I'd say you're right.
So many good New Bloom 2015 hats! Just a reminder that all are welcome in the Hattery! Shoot me a PM if we haven't chatted yet and lets get all your hats up in full glorious 3D
Hey, thought i'd drop my and svdl's submission in here as well, it's my first dota 2 Workshop submission. All your guys' sets, couriers and whatnot are looking fantastic, best of luck for their acceptance!
wow, there's some seriously incredible stuff you guys have submitted this year. I'm so excited!! This new bloom has been a real treat.
Guess I will toss my stuff into the pile. I was able to complete two (barely!). A Tidehunter with Fudgiewudgie and a Lone Druid set/summon/ult with Pior:
