hi, im currently making a razor set, (not for new bloom). while im scratching my head for the weapon design, id like to share my progress and ask for opinions or feedback. thanks in advance
@RNGesus.is.Love: Frankly, I don't think you even need a weapon design. That is an utterly gorgeous set, and very unique in comparison to Razor's existing items.
Hi guys i have just uploaded my item on workshop and i am now filling up my bank account information , i would like to ask what does payee means and im just a student

a person to whom money is paid or is to be paid, especially the person to whom a check is made payable.
Karkeng> Yes, you need to fill in the same name you put on your bank info (usually the legal name stated in your IC) Check the FAQ here if you're looking for other answers.
Anyways, LAST MINUTE NEW BLOOM SET CONCEPT. Sorry for being late, I got back from a break to keep my sanity intact. Inspired by the God of Longevity, I think the idea suits Treant Protecter the best, the old and wise buddy! Let me know if you're interested
hey everyone, I want to upload the stone summons for earth spirit to the workshop, but am not sure where... ability (no earth spirit in the drop down menue)? wearable? other?
Can I test it? Or do I just upload it?
Unfortunately I couldn't get the transparency to work on the wings because of the way the textures are merged when the items are loaded in game. Valve has the power to use transparency on items but for now we don't. Maybe with the engine update coming this year we'll have access to that but they do it for performance reasons so I'm not sure.

the colour scheme of skywrath looks kinda like my older design of Skywrath that i posted in november...

Hey, not wanting to step on your toes or anything, just thought I should let you know i'm working on a similar set with Aivanov.

Mmmmm they're not thaaaat similar, other than how they both have pink leaves. Cotton's is all about the peaches, whilst yours has lanterns and coins.
I think any set submitted will instantly have to compete with other sets made for that same hero anyway, so in a way any treant ideas at all are going to be competing.
I'm new here. I'm coming from gamebanana and I'm used to making fun skins/ gimmicks. I know modelling, skinning and compiling from CS:S and DoD:S.
First off, let me ask you some questions: I'm not familiar with the Steam workshop. How far can you go with customizing? For example, I made a dildo bat with jigglebones and I'd be able to compile it for some heroes that fit it. Would it be deleted?
When you add things from the workshop, do the skins automatically install to the default item slots for that hero?
Also I compiled something, everything works, but the textures keep having a black seethrough checkerboard on them, despite trying out some things in the .vmt files like commenting out the "$bumpmap" line and stuff. Does anyone know where this specific problem comes from?

If you're looking to make goofy stuff, you shouldn't really send it to the workshop instead give it as a custom mod. If you make goofy things, there will be little to no chance in getting the item ingame.
Q: My item just got rejected. Why?
A: Chances are that it didn't meet one, or several, or possibly all of the guidelines listed below:
Obscenity: We will automatically reject any obscene items. (Don't even bother.)
Copyright infringement: Even if you made the model yourself, if you used an existing likeness, it’s copyright infringement. We can't and won't put other people's intellectual property in our game, for the simple reason that we don't own it. They do. We will automatically reject any items based on existing intellectual property.
Overall Tone: We may reject an item if we feel it deviates too far from the tone of Dota 2.
Gameplay: Dota 2's characters have distinctive silhouettes that help a player differentiate between them in the heat of battle. Consequently, we tend to avoid items that overtly obscure or confuse these silhouettes.
Technical limitations: Items that require changes in character clothing or facial animation might be considered too costly to produce. Note: This does not mean that we will always refuse an item based on technical complexity. But nine times out of ten, it probably isn't helping your case.

Well....I think you should know why volvo doesn't like smth like that in the workshop or even in the game. xD
Make some really awesome stuff...dont waste ur energy on useless stuff - well this is just my opinion. ^_____^
Hey guys!
There is one guy that makes MODs for Dota 2. He calls them model reworks. Usually he just repaints textures and changes color of particle effects. Today he crossed the line by not only using lines from Dawngate game for VO of Drow Ranger, but also by using Guise of the Winged Bolt set made by Yi.
I downloaded it and installed to check if he ships set files in archive as well.
The only thing he mentions is the name of the set (spelled wrong btw) only in the very end of the video. He doesn't clarify that he didn't make the set and of course doesn't give Yi any credit (by that time he might have fixed that but only because I pointed out that in his reddit thread (http://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/2s27bi/drow_ranger_alter_ego_spirit_ranger_new_voice_and/)
Update: He agreed to add links to Yi's workshop and to chest containing this set.
Here's the agreement . Workshop things go under 6. User Generated content.
You have rights to the item until Valve accepts the item. After that Valve can do whatever they want with it.
Even though he can't put it up in the workshop, he did "steal" it. Its one thing to mod things that aren't in the game as well as enhance certain items and its another thing to essentially give free items.
Another thing is that he didn't mod the actual set, he modded the default items to look like the set. This means that the mod doesn't require the items to be equipped and therefore allow people to use the set without the item.
But anyways its just a mod and you can't do anything about it since items files are stored locally on your computer.

He can't put it up on workshop so...
This made me chuckle though;

Its so pretty, I can't wait to see the masks
