Came across this site/thread and I really dig it. Inspired me to do a little model myself of a mudkip. Blender and substance painter with 256x256 texturing and 424 tris
Couple really small updates this week. Refined the block in more and finished up all the architectural assets with the plugs n light switches and finish the base texture for the accent wall
still some small tweaks I have to make like the clipping on the corner wood trim. Next I'm probably gonna work on getting all the big furniture done and placed!
Created base shape for props. Decided to make buildings as a constructor with a big parts for the more interesting shapes, but in the future planning to break it for the smaller parts to make it universal. While modeling I'm listening chill Halloween music for the mood )
Decided to star small stylized project inspired by Spyro Remastered and an old wallpaper I found some time ago. The main goal is to create few stylized materials using only Designer, add VFX of bats and fog, and create simple shader for the grass and fabric. One more goal it's to create gameready pack of models for marketplaces.
Ideal it's to complete at the end of September, deadline it's 31 of October
Thank you for the clarification, and no worries. I was just concerned since Marina's profile states "Please ASK me for permission via DM if you want to recreate any of my original concepts in 3D", which I interpreted as restrictive of any recreations, including WIP posts in forums like this. I'm glad everything ended up fine after I sent the DMs though.
And thank you for facilitating this challenge. Being unemployed at the moment, it's really, really great to work alongside you all and have a place to get feedback!
[EN] I made this ship as part of the creation of my space travel map in the universe of Hand-Paint texturing.
I began to be tormented by the question: why do I abandon some projects and not finish them. ChatGPT helped me come up with an analogy with space flights, and as a result, I created a route list for space travel. The interface on this map allows me to clearly see whether it is worthwhile to fit into the creation of the model or not.
While it is impossible to make money from hand-painting, I just need to avoid long and complex tasks, they are too draining.
Hey! Apologies for not getting back to you both more quickly, but I'm glad you've been able to get affirmation from the artist.
Generally speaking, the primary goal of these challenges isn't to create a portfolio piece. Obviously, it's a positive experience to be able to display what you've done here, I totally understand that, but if that was the only goal then that can ultimately be done at anytime by seeking out concepts you're interested in or creating something all your own.
These challenges are meant to create a structured environment in which there are criteria you're trying to hit. From meeting the deadline of the challenge time frame, matching the stylistic needs defined by the concept, handling how to give and receive feedback, and delivering a finished piece. If you're able to get a portfolio piece out of it then that's wonderful! Thankfully, most concept artist are very positive about their work being used with credit so you typically can. However, it was never stated to be a guarantee. I apologize if any of the language used in the main post made it seem as such.
