maybe the abdominal muscles are a bit .. hmm tiny for the huge and massive body
or maybe it´s bc of the bellybutton that sits very high over the belt-line.. hmm
blub blub blub
btw.. make a group shot with all your rage-style-stuff !
splendid as usual sir. really dig the hands again, you make the best ones ive seen very cool. think my favorite part on this guy is the brow tho very subtle but very detailed, a very nice balance there.
Your best flesh based piece yet. It's rare we get to see people go beyond crossing off the major anatomy landmarks in a figure and instead look toward naturalistic development of a form shaped by a lifetime of behaviour.
It's the difference between an anatomy study and a character study, great stuff.
I cant help but feel that all the bumpyness on the skin is sort of noising up the piece now, your previous shots had these wonder clean, clear shapes that i really loved. But with the added high freq detail, i think the forms tend to get lost a bit now.
Maybe try toning down the overall bumpyness, and focus it in some specific areas?
Kevin Johnstone - I think its something I can learn a lot more about - hopefully that will be reflected in my future work too so thanks!
EarthQuake - I like the clean sculpts too, I think I could have toned down some of the range of details and maybe have found a better visual balance there. In the end the flesh is very much a part of his character, I just need to zoom out more often when i get in detail mode!!
I like a bunch of things about this guy and if I had the patience and time I would redo elements of him too, it was a fun project .. shame I never finished him
hey spacemonkey, this guy is pretty damn awesome man.. i wont go on about how much i like it, however i think it would be really interesting if our characters go at it..that would be an epic battle... i too feel bad about not finishing...maybe we will find some time in the future.
Can you add some distortion or a reference to a hole where the ring connects to the tire for the shoulder pad? I look at all this beautiful detail and them i'm like, what this isn't real those rings should be going through the tire or something.
other wise, just add this text to the next screen shot. "Hail to the king, baby"
Excellent sculpt Tim. Love the double arm (and double ear).. I saw some new Brink stuff today btw, characters are looking great! Hope to see more of your work soon.
Great concept art and models. Those intricate details you have incorporated into the models not only looks amazing and realistic but also does a really good job at bringing through character's persona.
Would be great to see a nice texturing job done on a few of them, just to polish them off.
Kevin Johnstone, thanks I often feel that I dont get enough time to make new things so its awesome to hear that there has been a noticeable improvement!
Renaud Galand, Timothy, bugo, Bryan Cavett cheers
clayton_barton, thanks.. yeah I wish it was easier to get to the texturing stage .. its actually the part I enjoy the most but I have been putting off finishing things till I get a new pc with more than 3 gig of ram (my pc sucks) I always use lots of layer masks and adjustment layers in my psds and when I work at any decent resolution my pc crawls ) so maybe when win7is out and I can afford a shiny new pc
torontoanimator , cheers!
Raider hey, I do some sketches first usually - for the snake I did some pencil sketches, exploring a few basic ideas before deciding they were too generic and not going to hold my interest as I worked on them. Fatty Mc Fat I spent time doing a sketch in photoshop.. although once again I use it as a starting point and go off and explore things in the model.
Ray Harryhausen would be proud of the snake character the only thing distracting with the presentation is that we loose the profile of the arms in the detail, and at some angles it appears to be connected at the elbow, steller otherwise
Marine; the upper and lower are separate meshes, I need to do some work to fix up the transition - more so now I have posed him
3dskillet; cheers. very true about the arm disappearing in the renders. I'm not a big fan of the renderer in zbrush - I hope the whole system gets an overhall in 4 or I learn how to do what I want in it

This guy is almost done..
