Just a quick update with progress. I'm going to get stuck into the sculpting now, I added and removed a bunch of detail from the mechanical parts... as I felt it really wasnt adding anything but detail, for the sake of detail.
Really nice, Tim.
I totally agree with what you did on the mechanical bits (keeping it simple, no detail for the sake of it), although one thing I would suggest is some sort of grip pattern (ridges, bumps, zig-zags, whatever) on the inside of his mechanical grabbing fingers.
Everything else is looking great.
Hey Tim. Nice stuff here, as always you're always one to watch.
suggestion: I reckon give the little hand a handle to hold that attaches to the big one. So it moves as one unit. It will be a lot easier to read imo. You know you want to!
Though that might be the direction you are already intending to go in lol.
Insert fanboy post here.
But seriously, this is coming along really nicely, Tim. I'm used to seeing a whole bunch of micro details from you, so its nice seeing something so much cleaner and still looking real pimp. Solid!
some sculpt adding bloaty flesh.. need to finish the flesh, do the belt, bunny, finish the pants and fix up a few errors.. oh and the base.. then he's done! phew
Cheers fellas, I dont think I'll texture this guy as I have some other stuff I want to get started working on.. but you never know. A few things left to do so comments and crits welcomed.
hey tim.. always when i´m playing jediknight (like atm again) i have to think about you and your tutorial *G* IT WILL NEVER STOP AAHR
ok but about the model.. just want to say one thing bc this stands out for me atm.. ITS NOT A GODDAMCRAZYBUSY MODEL!!! and that's realy nice !
maybe just put here and there (on the legs and his left arm) some little rivets or a "special" areas to open/modifie/whatever the mechanical parts to increase the level of detail without making it noisy
this is a really awesome piece spacemonkey, and I would love to see it animated, perhaps someday.
my only real crit is that the bunny's backstory seems rather trivial. does he have any other motives? I can't really see it being reasonable, regardless of his so called 'feelings' at the time.
great work, tim
maybe stretch the shin a little so he looks a bit more balanced?
too bad you don't plan to make a lowpoly and texture for your previous model. love the bunny

Trying to think of some constructive crit....... cant; it's awesome.

great work, man.
I definitely could have improved on the anatomny, the cloth folds and it needs a counterbalance/repose to address the weight from the mech are.
Crits are still good as I can see the issues and I want to avoid these mistakes in the next thing I make!

good work.
did a quick sculpt this evening based off a modified arshlevon base

How about trying to polypaint tim? Have never seen you polypaint. Would save you from the hassle of unwrapping too
