edit: ok fine i cut the joke. :P Personally i'm not interested in this kind of stuff, however good luck finding people. I do think a tiny bit more information initially would have stopped all the negative feedback in this thread.
I think something you should thing about, is if you need for the cloth to be dynamic or not. Does it need to react to things in the world? If so, dynamic cloth is expensive, and in most cases is tough to get looking right. (I remember hearing somewhere that Batmans cape from arkahm asylum was the result of one dude, and…
I recently came across a presentation slide regarding Guerrilla Games' character texturing pipeline (specifically the improvements made for Horizon Forbidden West). I would be interested in finding out how they extract the average-skin tone leaving only the skin variation, and if they use any other maps, such as hemoglobin…

First off let me say I've been lurking on and off here for years to view the great work that is posted up in the pimping and previews. I used to draw all the time up until around 10th grade or so. I mostly just sketched, never did much color work. I was actually pretty good for my age/experience. Well at least everyone…
Looking for examples of anisotropy maps for complex surfaces, like the kind of shine across a black horse in the sun, how the specular bends across its back. I suspect a flow map would work fine for this, depending on the renderer. I've done a bunch of searches, can't seem to find any examples though.
Thanks for the nice comments everyone! I'm going to be cooking up youtube video tutorials on general approach (not how to's or anything like that) after the semester is over and I have some time during the summer. Right now I'm way busy with game design (which is exactly why i havent responded to this thread sooner, lol).…
Tldr; Add colors, stop & do other things come back later. "stuck on textures" i am getting more into colors lately & i feel this is very "one toned". Maybe this is why it may not be interesting enough or satisfying for you? I can say for me (outsider looking in) things do feel off for me also. Did a search term that might…
Decided on trying to get the nitty-gritty out of the way first and made sure the import process went fine. After building the geometry and binding them to the skeleton, I was ready for import--but then... Wat. Why you do this to me Dota...? I dig the relatively new features the importer has so I don't have to hack the game…
