I'm really new to UDK so excuse me if this is fairly obvious. I was wondering if it was possible to vertex paint BSP geometry in UDK or are static meshes the only choice. BSP brushes seem to create relatively simple geometry but I thought maybe the engine could tessellate them to allow for vertex painting. Sorry for the…

Been chided by bobo and poop both now for not having polycount as my homepage... I figured I'd try and start posting here a bit more often. It seems like an awesome community with lots of talent! this is a painting I just finished up. I worked on it 10 minutes each night before I went to sleep for the past two/three weeks.…
Hey All, Started playing WoW again recently and wanted to try my hand a hand painted character, not in WoW's style. I used a concept by Tooth Wu, I thought the design was really cool and the nice separation of colours made it feel appropriate for a low poly hand painted model. I finished him up last week but open to all…
A new video tutorial for aspiring concept artists. Ctrl+Paint has just added yet another video to their already great tutorial library, titled Observation to Imagination. I will try this out too. I hope it is easy as ABC. However, though a lot of people might take such things for granted, a ton of work goes into making car paint such as car paint screening. Car makers test car paint and ensure that it can stand up to the punishment the elements deal out and don't even charge people for it.
Painting obsidian...I'm trying it on my Smoke Elemental for one of the pieces, my suggestion is to only paint whatever your engine will not be able to handle. If you can, try and use a specular map, and an environmental map (for reflections). Paint it black, and include any shades from the obsidian reference that Soccerman…
