Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a mesh in Maya and I've encountered what appears to be a pretty serious problem. This is something that has been a persistent problem over the past couple of days. I'm working in Maya LT 2017 and this problem only happens to this model/ in this scene. I've finished modelling and I'm…
So this shape has 2 separate meshes in its hi-poly form. There is a prominent seam in the hi-poly that is created with 2 meshes that are next to each other. For the lowpoly, I tried to make a contiguous mesh. But that screwed up the seam. here's the what the hi-poly looks like. it is made up of 1 large and 1 small mesh:…
yeah im not really sure what im going for except for "it should look good" im trying to start modelling mecha so i can get some intuition on the best way to make them. here is a really fast draw over i may redo this whole concept but this doesnt look half bad so ill post it .. the proportions of the legs are totally wrong…
Hey there all, I'm wondering if it's possible to import UV's to a mesh that's already got several levels of sculpted detail in ZBrush? For example, if I brought in a base mesh that doesn't have UV's, or if I've sculpted something out so much that the original base UV's are inadequate (resulting in stretching if I was to…
I don't think you get better bakes from continuous meshes. I intersect geometry all the time and get fantastic bakes. The only time I worry about having a continuous mesh is for the purpose of deformation. Weight painting is much simpler on a continuous mesh.
So here's the question: How can I export a skeletal mesh (one that is cooked) from UDK into a usable file for 3ds max 2012? The reason I want to do this is because I'm in a group project in a level design class (and I'm relatively new to UDK) and the professor wants 2 custom mesh's in our level whether it be vehicles,…
I'm getting buckling/unwelding around the collar on my retopo'd mesh upon projecting it onto my original mesh using Maya's Transfer Attributes, and I don't know why. I retopo'd my flat panels from Marvelous, transferred the UV's from the original flat panels out of Marvelous (using Maya's 'Transfer Attributes' feature),…
@Vastra Thank you, and I really appreciate your feedback! Ill look into how I can adjust my mesh to get a more realistic stone feeling to the steps, might be that I need to sculpt them a little in zbrush
