@Cynic - Thank you :) Here's a few more 30min spitpaints I did for the Facebook group: "Bridge in the Fog" "Organic Mech Suit" C&C encourage as always! Help me improve! :) Thanks
The mechanical concepts in your portfolio really stand out, but you could use some more environmental concepts. You do vehicles and mechs very well, but I suggest that you diversify a little.
Man this is some really really nice stuff you got here. The hair on your friend from work is just amazing. The detail on the mech like suit is pretty kick ass. Post more.
Yeah, this stuff is awesome. I love that fountain and that mech cathedral piece. I remember geeking out over it when you had an interview for CG Channel or something like that several years back.
I think you didn't get it, Mech. Now that is sexay. The only problem that the hand and the belt buckle are on the same level and are kind of the same value, but it 's not a problem from the default ingame camera angle.
the first image is my favorite, but all of these are pretty bad ass!! Have you tried doing any experiments with a minimalistic approach rather than the tech / mech heavy approach you have here?
Going to see it Thursday eve. I expect 15 minutes of very cool mech CG and 1.5 hours of semi-interesting dialog, romance and a fable attempt for comic relief. I'm excited though
@obscura straightening/aligning/snapping is fine for mech/hard surface unwraps, but not ideal for an organic island like this. The more you force it away from its natural relaxed state the more distortion will be a problem.
Hey guys! I've appreciated all the great feedback from my Max to Maya and Maya to Max courses over on udemy and I though I would give back again and throw them up on a sweet sweet summer sale. Cant beat 5 bucks to save a ton of headaches haha. Also to sweeten the pot I have a rendering mechs in Photoshop course now, you…
So finally I'm going to start an own sketchbook. I hope to have enough Stuff to fill this thread a little. Feel free to comment and crit the work. Lets start with a Assault-Mech I recently finished for my portfolio:
