This project came to life merely by accident. I was trying to learn a few new tricks in Maya 2018 more specifically the XGen Interactive Grooming tools and its new features. I have found nearly the same photo of Doberman on the internet and used it as absolute reference for this picture and since it is Holiday season I…
No. Shit. http://today.reuters.com/investing/Finan...-11_N04463006:1 Autodesk today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Alias, a privately held developer of 3D graphics technology, for $182 million in cash. This acquisition will grow Autodesks expertise and offerings in the film and video,…
Say hello to the newest member of the Her Interactive team, me =) I'll be doing pre-rendered enviromental art. So no restrictions on poly counts or texture sizes. Well at some point render times play start to create problems but with my poly miser background I doubt that will be an issue. And yes those are actual Barbie…
We have released a new 8.27.0 version of the Alternativa3D engine. Due to multiple requests we added shadows of the directional light, but this is not the only enhancement. Let's use a PC game as the platform and Rainbow Six Siege as a game reference for quality, what would the polycount roughly be…
Eric's 2% number seems about right to me. I have had positive interactions with a couple that seemed to know what they were doing (and what roles in the industry actually are). The others are just spamming for that sweet sweet referral fee (or skimming the salary that the studio actually pays for your services). The bad…
It's just mocking the interaction between people on the internet. It's nothing new, just because it came from a respectable forum and not 4chan. It doesn't mean you have to take it any different. Silly double standards, you'll find idiots everywhere so just laugh at them. Enjoy it, it's a guilty pleasure we can all laugh…
Thats some really good work mate, lovin the tesla character. I agree about getting a personalised portfolio up, cgsociety portfolios don't seem to cut it these days... Btw which uni did you go to? I did a course in Interactive Media Design in Edinburgh which introduced me to 3D art (which was great) but there were only 3…
Thanks for the reply guys. Pretty much it turns out the problem was because the scale of the bones. I guess at 1/32", which max aloud me to create bones of this size, it just decides it doesn't want to cooperate. I ended up scrapping the IK solver altogether as I thought I need it but I didnt, and just making normal bones…
