Thanks guys! Hopefully I can live up to it. I spent tonight working on a lava substance. I hooked it up to the $time originally in substance and that works fine in the substance player. Set it to a new variable name and tried to update it in ue4 through the blueprints and nothing seems to update till you physically enter…
The substance indie pack is on sale for $200. The thing that confuses me is it notes that you need substance designer to use it, but yet it comes with substance designer?? I don't know how long this on sale, so if someone knows whats up, lmk. http://store.steampowered.com/app/287280/
You can setup custom nodes for painter using substance designer - this is how all the proceedural nodes and textures in substance designer are made. You export a SBSAR file from designer and put it in the shelf in painter. There is already an 'auto levels' node in substance designer that basically does this.
well no, we got the OSL shaders. you can make what you want and i think it comes with 100 examples maps. if you like substance then there is a substance map plugin actively being developed by allegorithmic so you can load substances quickly in max.
the substance stuff seems to cost a lot more than the Quixel software. I remember watching a video from a while back and substance painter looked brilliant, but I want to get good at texturing by hand before becoming dependent on software like substance painter or DdO
