I dled a bunch of textures from their site yesterday but today for some odd reason I think I may have been banned from cgtextures.com I click on the links says " Banned! " next to the links and I'm getting fatal errors connecting. Would someone mind sending me the info to contact one of the moderators? Is this happening to… -
Old time telephone
Been working on an old telephone 2048 maps about 3000 tris This is how far its donw. Normal bake and low poly done. The normal map isnt edited. Gonna clean it up abit due to some errors. also plan on making a floor and wall with some surrounding small props. Current mesh low poly Current normal map -
[3Ds Max] Unique Smoothing Group
Hi guys, I used to use the script from Simon Fuchs, that assigns a unique smoothing group to the selected faces in 3ds max. It was super useful to hotkey it! Strange red normals in xNormal
Hi guys, I'm trying to bake out some normals in xNormal and for some reason they are coming out red on one row of polygons, it's not as if the rays are missing as it's still recording the normals. I have checked the normals of the LP model and they are fine but I still seem to get this error :\ Has anyone ever had… -
Set Flow - Max 2012
Hey ive been wondering. i set a hotkey for set flow in max 2012, and when i try to do this with an edge i get a maxscript error, saying "Setflow wanted 1, got 2" i imagine because its trying to do this for vertices when edges is selected do i have to set a separate hotkey for set flow for edges? -
Backfaces problems
Hi, i`m trying to bake backfaces details from highpoly into lowpoly using xNormal, its a coat made in marvelous designer, by unchecking the 'Discard back-faces hits' i keep getting errors in the map. Another solution is to flip the backfaces using zbrush, it flips the whole mesh but i need to flip only a part of the mesh… -

Being mostly soft is part of what's causing those shading errors; it's trying to blend between faces that can't be blended smoothly. Making some edges hard (above say 60 degrees sharp) will help lessen some of those issues. But those long thin triangles are never going to look great, probably; to get the best results,… -

Ok, and what particles engines do you recommend ? I mean, not only for fire, or smoke. If I want to custom made, not from this world particles, with different colors, etc, what can I use for it? Krakatoa is crashing on my computer because of some error bx034......, so I cant use it properly. -

I thing perna pointed out in another thread that "perfectionist" is often a synonym for "procrastinator". In other words, you'd rather spend time noodling on a tiny little piece of detail or working out an unnoticeable error than start something new or just FINISH the piece you're on. Do work. It's the only path forward. -

ok, now i feel stupid i´ve been trying to solve this for 4 hours and exported my project far more often than i wanted... while smoking i had the idea that maybe the scaling has something to do with it my model was scaled to 10%, which caused this rendering error
