Thanks for the feedback. I'll take a look at the test and try to just work one thing at a time. I think i am starting to spread myself thin. I been trying to make a portfolio and learn a new program at the same. But I think its best if I just try to slow it down, look at more techniques, and try to focus more on fixing my…
Try a straight row of whatever you want to go into that shape then try polar coordinates on rectangle to spherical, it might make it bend like that. Make a few rows and try it. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. You can try running radial blur on it with the zoom option. To get the effect you want you might need to…
Don't be afraid to add some color to the lights, when you show off the textures they can see the albedo anyway. You can also drop less important areas into shadow (but never completely black). Your radio has few parts that have worn off the coating to reveal metal, so you should try to place some extra lights, even point…
Hello All! This will have been my first post on polycount. I will try my best to keep it short but have much I’d like realistic advice on. Background First for some background information. I am currently a student studying at university in the states pursuing a Bachelor of the Fine Arts in Computer Game Design with a minor…
So, here I did more refinement to the wall shape and design. I am happy with my current design and next, I will start working on the wooden part. I continued by experimenting with different shapes for the flower (this is done quickly with nanomesh). My only objective right now is to block out the shape of the flower and to…
Ok this may sound like an extremely stupid question and i know it's very opinionated due to everyone learning differently. But i just like to get a feel for how everyone does something. So i'd like to know for those who use online tutorials or classes and what not, how do you watch them? Do you just watch the whole video…
These projects I was practicing with shaders and image textures. To make some of my texture maps I was using Substances B2M. I not sure if I am making my textures correctly or not but it would be very helpful to get some pointers on it. This was a school project I made in school. Its suppose to be a control room and I…
I'll try and keep this short. I've been racking my brain all day trying to work on topology for a Maya/Mudbox workflow. I'm trying to get good topology on a bog standard crate shape but I for the life of me can't figure out a good way to handle the corners ensuring I keep only quads. Firstly, Could anybody give me advice…
It's been ages since I updated this. After Christmas I got around to finally finishing the instrument panels, which are barely visible in the last render. for the last few weeks I've been trying different techniques to quickly make messy/random hoses and wires. I got some nice workflows down, I think I'll share a video…
Zbrush doesn not render soft normals in viewport. Try using BPR render with soft normals turned on to see what it actually will look like. Zremesher isnt there to fix facetting, it can with enough density, but you might as well just subdivide your mesh once more.
