Hi Polycounters! That's my first post, and i need some critique. I'm doing my first location (sci-fi boiler room) and i just finished my high-poly. Only doors were made from reference picture which i found in the internet, and rest of the room I created in my head. I will make some floor and wall details in ndo2, and whole…
Damn it..Form no longer valid...Arggggg...let's try this again. The control room is a small circular room. Made up of 8 pie slices...going for 2 or 3 unique slices. here is a ultra quick mock-up..gives you a better sense of scale I think...the rectangles would be monitors. In the center room is a control chair and an exit…
Is it done or are you considering it a work in progress? I think it has a lot of potential for sure if you're willing to keep working on it. I imagine it being like a ship/space station cabin for some crew member or something like that. Although, it also has a bit of a prison cell vibe to it as well. Something that always…
@jaker3278 You work very fast! @MikeKhine Looks good so far. @Saaamoth Thank you! @PacoCasares Thank you! Since last time I posted I took my blockout and adjusted the modular pieces to be more universal. It changes the proportions of the room a little bit but it still feels good in engine. I was trying to figure out how to…
Thanks for the suggestions, I didn't think to add a bit more logical structure for the roof opening haha. Makes complete sense! I will be adding some foliage to break up the scene further so the focus isn't too heavy on the rocks.
Couple minor crits (much easier than doing my own work ;) ) Roofs: I'd try and get the bottom edge to be closer to the bottom of a tile. That one roof above the balcony/plant looks best, you can see the arches of the tile. Gives it a lot more shape. The other roofs cut off mid tile and makes it look really flat. Especially…
I am looking at post-apocalyptic games/movies for reference, mostly Fallout and Borderlands. I am creating a very lighthearted approach to the theme, where the owner of the room is a crazy man-child; juxtaposing with the serious situation. The owner is trying their best to create a beach resort in the new world, but has…
Hello, this is my first post on polycount. I'm a second year games art student and we have a project to make an Environment from a book, tv show or Movie. I'm going with making the Dwarven Throne Room of Zhufbar from a Warhammer Book so I don't have much info on how the actual thing looks and I don't have much done but…
Hey man! The props are a good start. I would say you make the modular elements of the room first (the walls, the windows etc.) Once you've done that, start with the bigger elements (mainly the sofa and the chair). I would also various screenshots of the main room in game and put them together into a moodboard so you've got…
How would you approach modelling a room? I mean would you make every model with its own texture or would you use trim sheets? And what for? My idea is to create a single sci-fi looking room for real-time rendering. I might just set it up in Blender or UE4, I haven't decided yet. I'd like to learn a bit about 3d environment…
