Hello PolyCount, Finally have a reason to create an account at this wonderful community, and hopefully one of you will be the person who can take advantage of it. Jib Life Studios has a spot open for an environment artist/map designer. While being an upstart, 3 studios have come together around developing a single IP…
hmm, the renders seem like everything's pretty "dry" in the textures. It almost look like there's little to no variation in the roughness or metallic textures, and the normal might need a bit more "pop," do you mind posting those as well? Maybe it's just because the current render doesn't have any IBL/cubemaps or…
Interesting I guess folks missed some of my questions over the weekend relating to the tech as well. Here was the original thread but it fell off the map. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89650 Also just quoted it below """"""" Hello everyone, I did not see a thread yet talking about the final resulting…
For me, it's not an "either or" situation where there must be only one king of the hill. IMO, the hill is big enough for multiple apps. Blender and Maya can trace their roots back nearly 30 years. Maya's dominance and foothold is really an issue of timing more than anything else. In Maya's case, it origins go as far back…
Hello! I am new to polycount but not new in computer graphics! I am currently working on a mars project and already have some amazing results. There are a couple of things however that I miss and really would love to hear some insights of other game dev proffs. I want to rebuild this scene:…
OK. Strange story: The other day I was wondering about "Friends reunited" in my daily bed-brainstorm. So lying there, I asked myself "who is the most unlikely person to use the internet who I went to school with"? (seeing how most people I went to school with are not online). Eventually I came up with a name. I guy called…
A6: I've been using an A6 size wacom for about 5 or 6 months and to be honest I feel _less_ than creative on the tiny thing. It's great for browsing the net but has far too many warped areas, the sheilding is terrible and drawing straight lines in photoshop often come out a bit wobbly. A5: In my old Job I used an A5 for…
Hi polycounters :) . I love this community. I fell in love with game art a few years ago and did a bunch of ugly lowpoly characters, but while I was getting older (I'm 23) and having to get a job and think about a career path, I think the attitude to get shit done started be drained from me. I have read lots of threads…
Thanks for the feedback! changed the wall textures and softened the replaster texture, and added some props emphasize more on storytelling, redid some lighting and colors. A small vfx to add floating dust, and final touches on post process, and will wrap it up!
Old post but anyway ... someone may find it helpful. You must keep your light consistent among all photos. Every pic you take has different light conditions due to flash. How is Photoscan supposed to figure out common points between photos if they have different color intensity so to speak. 2nd: jpg and a cellphones are…
