Anyone know of a .ma batch exporter for Maya?
Hey guys, Do any of you know of any batch exporters for maya that can export out a bunch of selected files and into separate .ma files that are named what the objects were called in the outliner? Setting up a reference library, and it'd be pretty handy. I've seen a few that will do FbX, but I need .ma. cheers. -
Normal map viewport shader/filter for maya?
Just wanted to ask if anyone knew of any shaders that display the model in the viewport with normal map colours so I'd be able to go to one of the orthographic views, take a screenshot and apply it to my normal map. I was thinking along the lines of the normal map filter in mudbox and was wondering if there was a similar… -
Maya 2008 graphical problems - 'Little Help!'
Hello, I'm frequently encountering graphical problems with Maya 2008. In the UV editor window it often displays a white screen instead of the texture rendering it useless!:poly118: Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar problems? What's going on with Maya importing all these groups?
I'm coming from a Max background so bear with me... I just imported a high poly from Zbrush into Maya. Now, I noticed in the outlier that it imports it as a ton of tiny groups. Why isn't it just one group or one object? . How would you manage a high poly from zbrush if it does this? . -
Opening Disney's Moana Island scene in Maya
If you haven't heard, Disney recently released the production assets for one of the scenes from Moana for public use. You can download the 45GB file from their website. However, it's all .json files, and I don't know how I'm supposed to open them in Maya. Can anyone point me in the right direction? -

Only does this when Maya is in use, the only plugin I am using is the CryTek exporter, and I've tried resetting to default settings. Haven't tried re-installing Maya, however, though. I'll do that on Monday if I can't find a solution today. Edit: Also, only does this in some scenes, not newly created ones. -

the maya versions are the same but i brought my laptop to school, what i did was import the scene into a fresh maya file, and delete my character reference and it worked! -

Yeah maya is deep your never going to know it all. I am aiming to try to know what I need to get better and faster at modeling in maya.
