If you haven't heard, Disney recently released the production assets for one of the scenes from Moana for public use. You can download the 45GB file from their website. However, it's all .json files, and I don't know how I'm supposed to open them in Maya. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

you need to write a python script that will load all files based on the hier/json and assign the ptex textures...
you also need to instace the foliage millions of times...
and even if you manage to todo all that you need more than 88GB of ram to render the scene...
and its impossible to view the sceene in the viewport ever... its to much data...
you would need to create a lod system..
i would first try to load and render the bprt file...
