Just wanted to ask if anyone knew of any shaders that display the model in the viewport with normal map colours so I'd be able to go to one of the orthographic views, take a screenshot and apply it to my normal map.
I was thinking along the lines of the normal map filter in mudbox and was wondering if there was a similar thing I could do in maya?

i.e. a red light facing left, a green one facing up and a blue one facing forwards (relative to the camera)

KoddeShader also has a debug mode that applies normalmap colors.

Here's an example of what I mean. Essentially I want to model something in maya. Say this head. Apply a shader to it so it gives me normal map colours. Then I go into an orthographic view and screengrab and add to an existing normap map, say a wall
I'll check out those shades when I get home
