I have been playing around with Modo, using the inline help documentation,I am loving it already. The first thing I noticed about the app is that its very similar to Blender in terms of the different modes and other stuffs but what is keeping me hooked is the fast realtime renderer. Its super FAST!! with global…
Ok - Ive read everything about normal baking in Maya - still not getting results. Its just a test but nada output that's pleasing. Here are the settings and the output etc. Please help: Its probably just a simple issue with padding or a setting. I have some tiny bevels here - maybe my UV mapping is poor - I don't know !! :#
Coming along great, Erich, very clean model and texture work as always! I agree with Huntard, could use some more color variation to add more interest to the model when viewed as a whole. The fine details are great, but a little more forest and a bit less attention to trees at this point and i think you can call this…
Cheers for the comments guys :) @JonnyRaptor - Post your version of Mean Machine up - I'd love to see your take on it. I've obviously gone in a different direction with my re-design but you can never beat the bad-assness of the original! @Elod.H - Thanks for the crits. The right side or his body is/ was made more muscular…
Hey Spacey, thanks alot, and i'll definately try to keep this energy up! (moving house in the next week so things might have a small down time unfortunately). Your definately right in saying that i'm not doing long studies, i just always get put off by how -meh- things look after the early stages and don't feel like taking…
Technical artist are very valuable. The specialization has occured at our small company, I am modeling less and less, and animating more and more. I started as a 2D animator in 1991 (went to college for it), but got stuck doing environments. I have much love for good environments, but making them wasn't for me, I was much…
Something was bothering me about the main vault-style airlock, and I decided it looked too much like a bank vault and didn't really fit with the rest of the scene, so I decided to ditch it in favor of an energy core-type feature. I'm planning on using an emissive map to add some glow to the curved, recessed slots on the…
So, I spent way too long than i dare admit to get to this stage. Stopped/started, kept chipping away little by little when i had time and/or motivation. Went through various sculpting materials too throughout sculpting before i finally ended up back at zbrush's standard 'basic material'. Is there a defacto material used…
your S-F prop staging is beau en osti ;) I love the composition of story-telling around the car. But Matt_Billeci has a great point - if you present your setup as a scene, the shot composition has a big impact on picture readability. I'd also like to add that the houses on the background could be more ruined to look closer…
Getting back from a break, before update i would like to give some feedback. Im not professional so this are only my amateur thoughts @Elzy, really like overal feel, but there is a bit to many dark places in room (under table/stairs), everything looks to perfect (wooden planks) stains on tables are same on both. This looks…
