Hey all. Total Mari noob. I've been following some tutorials on Digital Tutors and starting to learn a bit about Mari. One thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to create a new layer from the selection (CTRL + J in Photoshop). I want to be able to select an element in my Ortho view, create a layer from said…
When i link a psd to a material, sometimes it'won't load entirely each layer. for some of them, only half of it is loaded and offsetted vertically (And if I reload, nothing changes, full frame is checked). the thumbnail itself isn't working when showing the different layers. Have anyone noticed this? Saw it on 2012 and…
Yea I tried Mix, didn't work as well. Seemed more like it was erasing parts or changing the opacity of the layer. Gonna have to try that plugin tomorrow at work (I don't have Max at home). Looks like it'd do what I'm trying to do. Does it only handle two layers or can it do multiple layers?
I'm trying to smooth out this transition between the soil and the white background, but I keep getting these massive blocky tiles. How can I change this? Is it because the landscape geometry is too low? The result from trying to blend out the layer with a height map. Nothing changes when I try to use a stamp. I want it to…
I often find I have to do operations to my layer masks, ideally I would just use a smart object for the layer mask, but this doesn't appear to be possible. Right now I am making a smart object with my non destructive edits in it and then duplicating it then rasterizing it and then using the result so I can always go back.…
I am having a problem with the default layered shader that I am using in Maya as it only seems to render out the top layer in Mentalray. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there another material I should be using? Here is the Maya software version http://www.flickr.com/photos/89952669@N05/8315921214/in/photostream…
One has to distinguish: Signed distance fields or functions does define some volume. Ray Marching is one possible algorithm to compute SDF's. Another possibility are voxels.. even if "rastered". One may say that the (original) metaballs are a very simple version of SDF.. only some radius around some ball centers…
Add a paint layer on top of your stack of normal layers, set its blendmode to passthrough. Add an anchor point to that, and use that inside whatever generators you're using.
Hey guys. I just started getting into Mudbox again. Haven't touched it since version 2009. Anyway, I have this one object that's doing something funky whenever I apply a paint layer to it. It looks like some polygons are flipping or some such. When I delete the layer (not undo) it goes back to normal.(See images) Tried…
Blender is only saving out one render layer at a time and I have to do it all manually, ex. My Mist Pass, or my Combined layer. Anyone have any ideas how to get them to all save out at the same time, so I don't have to go save them indivivually eacvh time I render something? I'm in Blender 3.1, thanks!
