Who is behind the screen ? When I was a child, I was already very curious, especially about mechanics and machines. I already had a keen eye for details, and I wanted to know how all works. I always asked my father a lot of questions about the machines I saw in the television or in the street... Fortunately, my father was…
Hello! I have been learning 3D for fun in my spare time for a few years now with the idea of One Day getting a job in a studio doing character or creature modeling. I have a job completely unrelated to design that I actually really enjoy, but just found out the team is getting downsized and my contract will be ending…
I just played Darkwatch 2005 in PS2. I'm surprised how great this game could have been in its time. I spiraled to searching what went with the IP itself and the studio. I feel bad about what happened to the studio and the creators. This was easily another iconic Playstation IP everyone could have enjoyed today if it…
So i keep getting the same feedback, that my anatomy is not amazing, my textures leave alot to be desired and all around have the name Beginner said alot about my work. Iv studied tons and get this every time i make a character, i cant afford mentor ship and am not sure what wall im hitting that i cant pass to get out of…
I'd suggest stepping back for a bit and doing some basic studies with pencil and paper. Currently, it looks like you are trying to run before you can crawl. Study the basics, study anatomy, you'll be better off for it. Don't even worry about scribbling on the default head or mangling a sphere in Zbrush yet, IMHO you should…
Hello! It's my first time posting here, I'm a student studying 3D environment+procedural art, Nice to meet you guys. ( •̀ ω •́ )✧I've been working on a hoard shooter FPS game with my team where you shoot shoot and exterminate alien spiders in a space hotel, art-deco inspired. I would love to have some feedback or opinions…
Im with Racer. Visualizing in 2D is harder than in 3D, honestly. You have to think about many many more things when drawing something (that isnt a doodle) than you do when sculpting or modeling it. Drawing is just a way of study. Do you HAVE to be able to draw anatomy to be able to sculpt it well? No. Do most people who…
Thanks for your feedback, you are both oviously correct, i am by no means a master of human anatomy and as most would benefit greatly from studying it further. What makes it hard for me is that dont realy see what i am doing wrong. The time where i was in school is a few years back and since then i didnt realy have anyone…
Hi everyone! Just finished up the second project for my independent study at the College for Creative Studies, and I'd love to get some feedback on it. The project was based on learning more about modularity and trim sheets, and I was also challenged to study the style of Airship Syndicate and relay that into my work. I…
Hi Polycount! About a year ago I started teaching myself Zbrush because I wanted to create characters. After about 3 months, I started a university course that is strictly environment art, and haven't had a chance to do any character practice or anatomy studying since. I've now decided to try and start learning this again…
