Does anyone know if it is possible to download the Maya Python Command Reference? I can not find any sites to do this. I would like to use the reference on my laptop when I have no internet access.
Hi there! I'd like to represent you the tool for creating curves from tubes for Maya. Its main advantage is easiness of using. You may just select the geometry and the script will analise selection and create curves where it's possible. You may even select a group or tubes merged together. ArtStation -…
Hi, this is driving me crazy. I have a mesh that is named "Model__321". How do I query that name? When I do `ls -sl`; Maya also (inconveniently) returns the above group name to which this object is apart of: Group__127|Model__321 I only want the Model__321 part. How is that possible?
Hey, I know the basics of uv'ing in maya but I have mostly uv'ed fairly planar/low poly stuff. This time I need to UV some high poly asteroids and do my best to hide the seams. Any tips/tricks/advice on how to do this? Or any links to useful reading? Thanks. :)
here is the picture. The mesh was created in MAX (without sub-divisions). Then I brought it into Maya to bake normals, but after I applied smoothing, something weird happened. It seems that pinching appears only if there is a vertex on open edge. Now the question is - do I have to close all my open edges, or? thanks!
Hello. I'm still pretty new at this and I'm having a problem importing static meshes from Maya. I know how to export them via FBX but when I import them to UDK they always import without the curves. I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question but once again I'm fairly new.
hi, maya is being very hate full to me and my insert edge loop tool isn't making straight lines across a plane box like shape goes all wonky if u know the problem plz share :P if not it there a way to make split edge snap on 90 degrees and stuff like that ?
I am trying to move a bunch of vertices with preserve uvs checked.Problem is they keep snapping back and Maya gives this error: Unable to preserve uvs.Disable the preserve uvs option to continue with this edit. Is there a way to fix this?
Im having a problem where Maya is rending out the shadows base on the trianglation of my model. I can go into photoshot and blur them out but this seems to be very inefficant. Anyone no a better soluation.
I don't really understand how the mirror plane degrees option in the mirror tool works in maya as the 360 rotation degrees only work when the object is orientated towards -z. If not then messes up with the degrees. I think i'm missing somthing but don't get it. it's not very well documented too.
