I've split my character into 3 different materials, I was wondering how I could select the regions of geometry specific to a material. In XSI you can select specific clusters, so how does one pull off mutiple texture sheets on a character in maya?
Hello, I am having a bit of difficulty getting the tools to work... I have followed the documentation but it doesn't seam to have worked... I get this in maya when opening it and in my plugins it says that I have the correct version loaded, any thoughts?
Maya 8.5: I went to go do an ao pass with a mental ray shader and the option in hypershade is completly gone!??! then i went to check out the render settings menu and mental ray is gone out of there too. Anyone know how to fix this? thanks!
Some of my geo is turning transparent as you change the camera angle exposing the underlying geo/textures? Im really stumped.. Any suggestions? Im using Maya 2011 and its happening in Viewport 2.0 and HQ Rendering. Here are a few screen shots...

Alright I am trying to create a melee weapon in Maya 2010. I have all the programs. I can import/export smd files. But here is the road block I am running into. When I try to compile with GUIStudioMDl I get the ERROR: cannot find bone weapon_bone for bbox I have skinned the model I made to the single bone joint called…
