Hey all, I'm looking for a good way to view models in a no lighting situation BUT, with alpha turned on. I know maya is capable of doing this, but it appears to limit my textures size to 256x256 when I turn this on. (unless I am not setting it up correctly.) So is there a good program where I can load an obj, a few…
Im not quite sure what the word is for whats happening here on my model. its just 2 polys on the face but the traingles that they are subdivided into are really obvious i havent put an ambient occlusion map onto it so thats not whats doing it and i can upload the unwrap if that will help you see any help is good thanks…
Hello, Will it be ok to upload models from a portfolio to a sketchfab, even if the models do not represent my current level as a 3D artist?First, I made some decisions I am not sure they're correct (some weird UV decisions and crappy topology), no one would see this in regular beauty shots. But if I upload my models to…

Hi guy, I plan to do a male character with crusade armor. The armor is not completely hard shells. I don't know that if I should model the low poly with clothes or model them separately, because once smoothed, it might look mushy. Can some pros give me a hint?
I'm about to start modeling this building for Crysis: http://www.mybesthelsinki.com/HelsinkiArchitecture/Stockmann_Argos_building_Helsinki.jpg It's a corner of a department store located in Helsinki Finland. I have never low-poly-modeled anything that detailed. That's why I'm not completely sure how to aproach this. I'd…
Hey, I am planning on making a HP model, but unlike a low poly model I feel like it would be hard to texture. Would it be best to just use materials without unwrapping it or what I was thinking is to unwrap the low poly before the turbosmooth. That way the uv's should match up.
ok guys I know this is a newbie question, but I am going to ask anyway. I plan to model a shotgun. Is it common practice to model in pieces, then attach them together as one object. like the barrel, the pump and so on. Or do all the surfaces need to be connected? I dont plan to rig it or anything.
Hi guys, I'm given a task of modeling a slightly higher poly version of some quite primitive polygonal object, besides that, it is said that I have to make a LOD model of it also. It means another object. What those Lods really are and are they meant to be higher or lower poly versions of the main object?? Thanks!
