Hey! For my final year project I made an environment in UDK based on a concept from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Bellow is a link to a video of the apartment. nice definition of forms on the torso portion of the model. I feel that where the hooves connect to the rest of the legs, it could use a little rework. I found some images which might help you out. The first is a comparison between a cow's foot vs a human hand (sorry I couldn't find it compared to a foot, but you get the…
Mostly for illustrators, but I'm going for the portfolio reviews from the art directors from Naughty Dog and Sony. Can't decide which. Haven't had my portfolio reviewed since 2009. Should I go the printed route or hand them a laptop with all the huge images? Anyone else going? Maybe want to split some costs with a married,…

It was put together recently, and all crit and feedback is welcome and much appreciated. http://www.davesanimation.com/ Hope you enjoy! More images-of-the-moving-variety to follow in the future. Hey Guys, is there any good way to set up a camera to fit a concept you are doing? I'm working in maya and i find that my scale gets really off, so i'd like to set up my camera to fit the Concept better and from there work on my blockout In this case this picture?
You'll have to forgive me for the ignorance :/ , but... This is the first time I heard about vertex painting... what is it exactly? And I'd like to know about how can I improve my texturing quality. For instance, in the image I'm showing (…
Whats the difference, It looks like pelt "relaxes" (haha) the uvs more. However what concerns me is how this will effect texturing. In other words which option would be better for hand painted textures?
The viewport shows my alphas properly, but when I render I am getting a white halo around the edges. I have switched renderers between scanline, mental ray, and V-Ray and I get the same result everytime. Any ideas?
I was thinking, when I do a render and my output window shows up telling me what it is doing and it says my version of Mental Ray is from Feb 2 2011 and that sounds kind of old. Is there a newer version out and if so how do i get it and what does it add? Thanks
Hello. I'm still pretty new at this and I'm having a problem importing static meshes from Maya. I know how to export them via FBX but when I import them to UDK they always import without the curves. I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question but once again I'm fairly new.
