Focus on defining planes and mid level forms. Things are way too soft now. For example, the top of the head is way too smooth and ball-like on the mature man. I agree that the eyes on the older guy need work too. Nice job so far!
Hi, I'm looking for proper fbx import settings in UE4. Binormals and tangents should be calculated in the pixelshader, not in the vertexshader. So what does "Import Normals" in the fbx import dialog imply? You import only the "Normals", means "smoothing groups" (hard/soft edges), or does it also mean to import "binormals…
I'm wondering how I can fix these ugly "aliased"/pixel-looking shadow edges? Looks the same runtime as in editor. It's a point light, set to soft shadows and very high shadow resolution. In QualitySettings AA is set to 8x Multi Sampling. Deferred rendering, linear color space. Precomputed Realtime GI.
Hi. It's my first post here. I want to show you my latest model, the AK-47. I modeled mainly on the version 2. This is my first model, in which i used Substance Painter, and Marmoset Toolbag 2. Softs i used as i said it's Substance Painter, Marmoset and 3DS Max.
I've been trying to save a GIF image using photoshop, but i always get these white areas where using a soft eraser brush around the edges. Is there a way to remove this but still keep the faded effect around the edges? I've had this issue for a while now and haven't been able to work around it
Softimage (XSI) have best modeling tools ever! It so easy to do complex subdiv hipoly modeling, and editing geometry topology! All over 3d modeling soft is braindamage after XSI! Autodesk must BURN in hell for killing Softimage!
Looks like your problem might be due to that whole area being soft-edged. If you have a 90 degree corner between two polygon surfaces, you should really consider hardening that edge. It'll solve a lot of shading issues.
Looking good so far! A few things: Her face could use some love. In your sculpt it feels soft and cute, whereas in your references it feels more harsh and angular. Also, her arms seem a tad short too.
Try using Surface Blur on the Diffuse a few times to get rid of those smaller details, then use nDo2 and adjust the strength and softness of it. There should be a curve setting you could try out that removes a lot of the smaller details too, I think.
Been trying to look for some hint of that through comments etc. alas to no avail I see no mention. That's what I expected too.. but I'm just going to go with the excuse of it's a soft launch site right now to keep my hopes up.
