Add away https://www.facebook.com/timoliverhaag While it is my personal account I use facebook 95% for art so there won't be much inflammatory debate or oversharing that you probably don't want to hear about - I leave that to the greentooth slack group ;)
(Although some people will debate that 199$ is still pretty high for a 35% chance of getting the dreaded RROD.) Really they got it down to 35%? I always thought it was like at 80-95% since everyone I know has gotten it at least once.
Here is something I am working on to get better at Hard-surface modelling and to improve my general ZBrush skills. Bane from the new Batman movie; The Dark Knight Rises. Played by Tom Hardy. Not going for a full 100% replica, more like 95%
If you are dealing with Volume Textures you will get what the W is for ;) . You are right, setting it to zero should always do the trick. But if you don´t know that, this can really be annoying, trust me. I guess 95% of us never even bothered to go into UW or VW.
I've got an EVGA 780i motherboard and 2 x EVGA 9800 GTXs and haven't had a single problem in 2 years. I'll also reiterate that if you're only using this machine for 3D and related tasks, SLI isn't that useful or worth the extra money. SLI is 95% for gaming.
I got laid off from Day 1. As did 95% of the Silent Scope team. Merry xmas guys. If anyone needs an artist, hit me up. I'm jumping back into the mosh pit of unemployed! It's on Gamasutra now. http://gamasutra.com/view/news/38934/Major_Layoffs_As_Day_1_Studios_Loses_Konami_Publishing_Deal.php
A 1k rpm isn't that high for many 4 bangers. My V8 95 dodge ram idled about 800 rpm, and my i4 06 ford focus idles around 900rpm i think. Techsmith: his first post says its a 1996 Toyota Camry
Thanks guys :) @fearian 95% of the work is done in Marvelous Designer. I use Zbrush mostly for micro tweaking and decimating the mesh down to more manageable poly levels. I use soft selection in Max to deform the MD results to fit in the shapes on the ship.
""I'm downloading the demo of Redshift, I'll see what the shader offers!"" i could send you the part about rendering in redshift that i did for my gnomon video could be a good start .. i managed to get close to 90/95 % christophe
Most character artists that can do props just put it on the resume and leave it out of the portfolio. Or you could put all the props in one "collection of props" image. The focus should be 95% Character art, you don't want to seem unfocused or indecisive.
