Thanks Tenchi, sorry for the late reply, have been super busy the last couple of days.
I'll try to see if I can add some extra volume in those forearms!
Anyway here's a quick update, redid some of the front straps and some more work on the back part.
Have you just modelled this from the trailer and some press release photos? If so, it's very impressive. I'm tempted to say I'm looking forward to the final render of this just as much as the new movie, haha
Before you go any further I'd take another stab at the proportions DK! Bring in his waist a little bit at the sides (to add to the silhouette) and make his legs longer while you are at it, especially below the knee. Doing that should bring the arms lengths into proportion with the rest of the body.
One thing that stood out to me were the veins on the side of his head by the strap. I can tell you used an alpha. Maybe space them out a bit, fade the edges and play around with your lazy mouse settings. It just looks a little unnatural. Other than that everything looks pretty good.
Thanks specsowl, will do a final detail pass when everything is in place, then I will address the veins/scars on his head, thanks for pointing them out.
Had a quick go at his proportions, and tweaked them some more, need some feedback which look better, the new one is now 7,5 head long, old one was 7, kinda liking the old one more, gives a more bulky look
Massive improvement bud. But those arms are way to long and you may need to tone down the shoulder's sizes as well as the Biceps.
i don't know man, it's bane i'd say pump him up till he almost explodes never was a fan of the design, but he is a massive monster, right now the model looks pretty ordinary
Thats because he's Bane from the Dark Knight Rises, not Bane from the comics or anything else. That Bane wouldn't work in real life, and Nolans world is grounded more in reality.
Thought the hands were supposed to start at the crotch, with ideal proportions?
Bicps might need to come up abit indeed thanks for pointing that out.
Currently working on the boots, never been that great at modelling shoes/boots so good practice.
When I put the boots in I can tweak the silhouette around the pants some more, make some nice folds and stuff like that.
Right now I think the crotch is also too low (which makes the arms REALLY too long).
Keep in mind where the hip pivot is. The leg should be able to kick over their own head.
You also made him 7.25 heads high. 7.5 is more believable, but the level of muscle detail you've jacked him up with, he almost looks like he should have marvel proportions (8.5 heads high). It might look a tad nicer if you scaled his head down a touch.
The thing about head size, is it determines your spacial relation for the entire body. Having a big head will just make your character look short. A small head will make them look tall.
You haven't quite nailed the appearance of the mask which is your most important part for defining the character.
The proportions and positions of the components need quite a bit of tweaking to get that really vicious looking toothy maw appearance that the real Bane mask has.
His legs are about as long as they should be - a bit less than 50% of his total height, measuring from sole to bottom of crotch. They could stand to be an inch or two longer, but they're pretty close.
I would beef up his traps. It's pretty much Tom Hardy's "look." Currently it looks like his traps slope downward casually (like most of us.) But here's a shot of him from warrior:

Yeah that Dark Knight Bane kinda sucks. I like the bulkier one from comics. I don't see why they could use a Strongman competitor....

Done with my Voldemort, back to work on this again
Other than take keep going! More updates please.
Really appreciate the feedback!

I pulled his crotch up abit, and made his head a just tad smaller, better?
Alberto Rdrgz :
Made his bicep smaller, thanks for that!
Did some work on blocking in the boots, far from finished
Beef up the quads and knee pads.
Beef up the muscles around the neck and shoulders.
Last thing is make the plates on the chest piece larger. I think it will make is appearance stronger.
Getting there I think.
Just need to refine the glove some more and add some details to the boots.
And the back needs some love, but not to much left.
Feedback as always much appreciated!
That mask also looks really uncomfortable. Won't stop like millions of people trying to dress up as bane this Halloween though.
