hi we just got maya 8.5 (woot, massive step up from 6 hah) I was wondering if it has the same kind of projection baking you get in max- so for example if I have several high poly objects floating on a plane, can I render a straight diffuse of how those objects are lit etc onto that plane. I have no idea what itd be called?
Hello! I have just started using mudbox, and decided to start with rocks for my next environment. My problems have mostly been general blobbiness and ugly texturing (left). I'm slowly getting better (right), but I think there is still a lot to learn before I can start building the scene. I will be doing a lot of sculpting…
I've been trying to bake picatinny rails where the teeth of the low poly rails are separate elements from the main body, but cant seem to get a good result. I don't know if I' not setting the projection cage up right or what. I've searched the forums to see if I could get an answer but didn't find anything so if anyone…
So the way I normally get this map is by simply converting it from the normal map What I've always wondered is if there's another way do do it, namely, without the need of a low poly model? Was just thinking it would be nice to have a high poly model with UVs that I can somewhat texture with the aid of this map, say in Ddo…
Hi everyone, I would like to know how to fix this problem of AO i Marmoset 4. The baking of each part is in different folder, is not the same to avoid problems, normal map works fine but AO i have this issue, some tip to fix it? Thanks a lot!
It's substance painter problem. But when I tried to bake in marmoset, the results were amazing. I also tried some other projects and the issue is same. It's just substance painter is not good for showing bake. For render use marmoset.
I'm currently looking for advice on removing baked-in lighting and highlights from photo-references. I'd really prefer a non-destructive way, but I'm dealing with very brightly lit references for my current project. Any suggestions?
something we've been doing a fair bit in work with maya is animating models with various constraints and ik chains, and baking down the animation to bone rotation. I was wondering if anyone knows of a similar feature/plugin/script in max?
Hi guys, I am working on a zombie arm right now and having some problems with my layer system. I have a layer with some polypaint information for the arm. Now if try to bake the layer, something weird happens and messes up the whole color information. Does anybody know how to fix this? Cheers
