This is a tiling texture on its own map, right?
In areas where there is a tight curve try and have 1 subdivision between every link of tread. If there is still severe distortion consider adding an edge loop at the mid point. There will always be some amount of distortion as you wrap the texture around the curves, just tweak the placement of geometry until its acceptable.
