Maya Normal baking
I need help i trying to get some details on a model by baking the normals using maya transfer map so to test it i use this simple model whit some details but this is what i get it barely visible,so i need help solving this, i try using xnormals but it dint help so any help and what do i use to get the normals easy xnormal… -

Depends on how the normal map is rendered. If this is viewport display in Max, there's likely going to be seams, because Max's viewport rendering generally sucks. There are several ways to display normal maps in Max, I can't remember which ones are synched to their baker, the only one I remember for sure is to use the… -

Getting normals out of ZBrush
I've just created a tiling texture on the canvas and am trying to get a good normal map. I just used the simple brush and drug the normal material over everything but I can't seem to get a good map that isn't aliased to hell. Even with render/ best it's still pretty gnarly. Is there a setting I'm overlooking? -
Mirror meshes normal maps bakeing
Hi! I baked mesh maps in Marmoset Toolbag and after importing them into Substance Pianter I noticed, that normals where edges create mirror objects looks odd. This is mirrored object, and this normal on the middle is undesirable, it should be smooth there. My question is how do I bake maps in Marmoset to not have this… -

I played RDR2 last year, but since the horses were small on the screen, I didn't pay much attention to the details back then. Looking at them now, they look truly impressive. They almost look like a Ziva VFX product. Normally, to generate such detailed normal maps, you would need ZBrush or complex muscle group modeling.… -

Try Normals -> Unlock Normals. It looks like that piece has been mirrored and the normals are messed up. -

I stopped to use MAx for rendering anything long ago so my memory is a bit in fog about it but my guess you should be able to render uv or just normal AOV whatever MAx calls it nowadays . I mean you render the normals AOV before deacals then normal AOV of decals only and then composite it back together in 2d compositor .…
