Thanks for the comments, I knew it wouldn't fit when I was making it but I wanted to make something generic, since everyone is doing HUD's based on heroes, and the ones in the workshop are already pretty top notch. It is stated on the FAQ though that the HUD's shouldn't be far off the Dota universe but oh well :poly121:
Agree 100% with poopipe. This line, "learn technical details, you learn to follow direction and you learn what not to do", completely encapsulates my work experience so far and I'm a better artist and team mate for it even if I don't get to tackle the big hero props or major scene work.
The helmet reminds me of a design for the canceled EA game TIBERIUM, where the hero character had some funky Iron man like helmet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtA3zXkDue8#t=0m40s I quite like the design of the helmet in the second concept picture, the one the guy with the electric sword is wearing.
Hey you are still interested in my tower defence game. [ QUOTE ] I only took about 100 total Manhunt screenshots, but about 1/3 of all the PS2 Manhunt shots ever released are mine - including the "hero shot" on the back of the box. [/ QUOTE ] what an amazing accomplishment, I'm glad he spent 4 pages on the screen shot approval process...
The one at work got the Guitar Hero UI burnt into it several times after being left on for an entire weekend. They did manage to fix it though. I'm not sure of the procedure. That said, if you're not going to leave the thing on the same screen for two and a half days, you probably won't have too mnay problems.
Tks a lot for all replies, really nice have this feedback, just opened my mind to figure out how the things could be, the project we'll work on have a lot of urban environment and 3rd person view like gta or no more heros more or less, but nothing similar. Thank you guys.
The end use of the model is the most important aspect here. Us the net a hero model or a bit part support player? How close will the net be in frame? If its for a game and just a bit player I would use textures with alpha an channel. If its for a 'basketball net ad, Id model every string.
Hi. Fun project and nice start. Here is a paint over to better explain what I think: Basically you need to stylize more the proportions of the mouse. I may have exagerated a bit on this paintover but that's the spirit. Also, a Heroes of the Storm style would be nice on this one imo. Hope it helps :) Cheers
Unsung heroes the sound guys??? Nah...it's the tech artists dude. Followed by the sys admin/hardware installer & upgrade guys/gals. Even the sound guys work are in the frontlines in terms of player experience. Nobody will deep check the end credits lists for the tech artists and sys admin crew (except maybe, headhunters).
