I already own a mac, and I am just about to start my online tutorials for MAYA. Are macs used at all in the industry? Overall Are Mac's decent enough to run programs? Can't afford a PC just yet, A little worried. Any advice? Other than the obvious which is to buy a PC.
Going to evaluate 901 and potentially move our animation over to Modo, would love someone to help me hit the ground running. Skype (text) chat would be ideal, look forward to talking to you and hope I can help you back in some way in the future -- PM me your skype name :) Thanks, Gsep
A little author design and experiments with models set from armor store. http://romanyukart.com/store/double-purple/ Good example of quality and the whole set in a whole image. right mouse buttons confuse the majority of computer users, anyone who does phone tech support will support my claim. Oh yeah, with varients of *nix running on pretty much everything I don't see why everyone is so surprised OSX can run on a PC.
OK so quick rundown. This is a building I found in London that I decided to model. As of right now, I'm finished with the window, and tiles on the roof. To do list -door knobs -second door -power boxes and cables(?) -menu "box"' -lanterns -signs and flagpole -brickwork I have noticed there seems to be an aversion to help…
Im fairly new to modelling and now i am starting to question my workflow. I am always trying to model in only quads using edge loops. Thats way when i try to add some detail to certain part of the mesh i create an edge loop that runs through entire mesh and creates a lot of new vertices even in places when its not needed.…
I've fallen behind with this, but not because I wasn't working on it. Mostly I've spent all this time trying to figure out style. At first I was using standard PBR materials for texturing, but it looked... noisy? Muddy? Boring? I would attach screenshots, but with all the running around screaming and switching textures,…
Hey all! I’m going to be switching to Linux Mint soon. One of my concerns with the switch is running some 3D apps, like Max for one - I know that it “should” be possible with WINE. I’m wondering if anyone here is currently or has used this set up, and how it worked out. I don’t know what to expect as I’m a complete rookie…
Trees! I've made a small set of birch trees I can use to dot around the scene and add a bit to the variation, giving a sparse sub-arctic atmosphere. The main trunk meshes were made in Treeit and I put together a branch atlas using Megascans twigs and photoshop for baking. For these I decided to use a simple B/W vertex…
120 Characters running on the web. All skinned meshes, all animating. 6 unique walks, 6 unique texture variations. I'm getting about 47 fps on the scene. They are light too, the entire scene is 3MB. http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16956434/KickstarterZombieApocalypse/ZombieStressTest/WebPlayer.html I'd be interested to…
