Running 3DS max on Linux with WINE

Hey all!
I’m going to be switching to Linux Mint soon. One of my concerns with
the switch is running some 3D apps, like Max for one - I know that it
“should” be possible with WINE. I’m wondering if anyone here is
currently or has used this set up, and how it worked out. I don’t know
what to expect as I’m a complete rookie with Linux. Surprisingly I found
very little Max/WINE info on the web. I would appreciate any insights
into what I’m getting into. Learning Blender is on my ToDo list - may
come earlier than expected if WINE is not the answer.
