Hello Folks! I want to build an 3d environment portfolio. I am aiming to gain skills by using 3ds Max and UDK for this environment. My choice for the environment its an Abandoned Quarry, my aim is to make rocks and columns of cut marble, and left open with the years to be stained by the soil and years. I am mainly going to…
Was hoping to get some of your guys' feedback on something. A few of my friends and I have been working on a 3D/2D plat former template over the past couple of weeks. We plan to release it on the Unity store so developers can use it as a springboard to jump off of for their game. We're almost done with the main character's…
Have you ever accidentally just clicked when trying to zoom into the object which I guess is the short cut for scale when in edit and your model jumps to the center of the screen and the objects ends up either too small or freaking huge. Well I have never wrapped my brain around this awesome feature, it leaves me wondering…
Soooo, I was really stoked for Castlevania fun. I ended up just buying it instead of playing the demo. I dunno, I'm a bit let down. I haven't tried any of the co-op or multiplayer, but the single player experience has left me feeling...meh. I've played a few levels with each character, and I can't really find a character I…
Well, the decision has been made.. I've kicked it around for so long but finally... June 25th will be my last day of full time 40 hour a week work for a couple semesters. In July, I'll continue going to school full time maybe pick up an extra class or two in hopes of finishing school a bit sooner.. The time I'm taking from…
Hey guys! Another update, I have modeled the first golem, rigged and animated him. Made my first projectile and particles as well together with some destructibles. I wish I understood how destructibles worked because right now they are doing things they really should not haha, but I will figure it out!…
Im working on some modular assests that will be brought into UDK and I have a few questions. Would it be wise to map only 1/4 of that big central platform and just make sure that the ends match up to tile? Image below is of this outer frame for this lift. The selected area on the left is a glass window(another one on the…
@LokiDokie Thanks for the feedback! Radek's forward arm is meant to be commanding the floating sword. Its a thing in DnD called a Dancing Sword that he controls with magic more or less. I kind of want to add some magical effects visually connecting the two together but im not sure about that yet. Im with you on the left…
Looking good sofar, but here's a few comments: Firstly, why are your tiles all different kinds of sizes? It would seem a lot more natural to me that the tiles are all the same size (standard). Secondly, make sure your tiles are arranged in the same pattern. The wall tiles at the window for example, it's a bit weird that…
Here is a test bake of the treads. The on e on the left is what I modeled and unwrapped the first time. It had 332 triangles. I optimised it and created the one on the right: 290 triangles. But there are 180 of these in total, so that's 52,200 triangles in total... just for the tracks. I came across a thread where the…
