Hi everyone, not sure if this is the correct part to place this. I'm very interested about learning how to make hand painted textures...the problem is I'm very much lost and I don't know where or how to start. So...can you share with me some good resources to start with this? Any kind of resources is fine, paid or free!
If you want your decal to be flat color then sure, simply paint a mask on a fill layer. Beginner stuff. But when you want to do more custom decal and actually project a picture of a poster with some graphic/ photos in it, then it's kinda stupid to draw all the graphics/ pictures/ photos/ etc in Painter, unless you going…
This hasnt been a problem until now, but some models ive created I cant paint on some materials and can only use a fill layer which then procedes to make it look like something that was made in 1992, what is going on here?
Hey @slosh So by handpainted I meant hand painted pbr workflow with normal+spec and Hand-painted Diffuse(I'm not sure if it's called handpainted pbr) Hence all the sculpted details.
just started using Mari and I'm trying to figure out projection painting. When I load the image it comes out pixelated though, what settings do I need to make a 4k texture map? ^This is the result I'm getting with the settings above, when you can see below that my image is clearly a much higher resolution. I really can't…

Is there a way I can get a more ...averaged(?) smoothing that also darkens the lighter values? In this case I'm painting out portions of a blend shape I don't want, but…
I have a character model that I modeled and later rigged for a class earlier this year, and now I'm in an animation class and would like to use this character in an animation. Problem is, my weight painting sucks. Is it possible for someone to take a look at it and fix it for me? I can send you the model via a PM. Here's…
We started looking into Unity at work (mobile games developer, VisualDreams) and I thought that I would try to get up to speed with it by doing a simple hand painted dungeon. Diffuse and lightmaps only. I just started creating some simple tiles and textures. There are some lightmap seams and since I haven't made something…
Just the block in of the scene so far. It's at 3k, not going to really worry about polys though that much. Just keep it lower and increase where I need to for lighting. Going for a hand-painted/WoW look on this scene. Using the Cataclysm dungeon Stonecore as reference for a lot of the rocks. Textures are placeholders just…
