It is similar in my opinion to people who try to stylize a character without knowing anatomy. They think that because they don't know anatomy, they can just give their character huge arms, or tiny legs, and it will look right because it is 'stylized'. But really it is the guy who knows the proper anatomy who could make the…
Starting on the beard Hair details. I could have just mad ea shapes, stylized mesh, beard shape. but i feel I want to actually make stylized hairs. its time consuming but I feel its better to put the work in. Even the eyebrows, could have just been a thick shape, more cartoony/ but i actually spent hours placing each hair,…
my main reference was this project https://www.artstation.com/artwork/VR8eZ but wanted to do less stylizes, and rest I have similar refs for jar that you sent here, I will try add a bit of SSS. Regarding sill life those are great scenes, I might do something like that for next project! Looks like great exercise for…
Hey folks. I've decided to participate in the Graveyard Challenge hosted by CG Boost. https://cgboost.com/graveyard-challenge I didn't wanted to create a normal graveyard, but to bring it to the next level and be creative. Recent fire in Australia and the pricture below inspired me to make a scene of burning forest. My…
Hehro again. Still trying to figure out a style for my rpg, and a style that benefits my current skillset. Given that i lack the drive to become an artist able to make photorealistic art in any medium, i've decided to go with a cartoony, simplistic look. But more than just a way to half-ass things, i really really like the…
Nah its a good portfolio, don't second guess yourself. Just a difficult time for the industry. Might be extra difficult depending on how many studios are in your country. Only suggestion is maybe try a few other styles, as you're currently limiting your portfolio to just stylized. Good luck :)
Anatomy looks pretty good for the most part. The character is not a fat man. He is a stylized body builder with short legs and a distended abdominal region. Shorts never perch halfway up a slope and that looks a bit weird (like they are cut off at the top in an unnatural straight line). Looks like the arm muscles need some…
Hi there, I'm new to posting on polycount - this is my first work thread. Would really appreciate CC and any general feedback on my work :) I'm a games art student at University of Hertfordshire; working my way to becoming a props/assets artist; and maybe even an environment artist. Working on a 3-piece showreel. At the…
Hello Everyone! I recently graduated from Academy of Art University with a MA in Game Development with an emphasis in character modeling. I've updated my portfolio from characters and props I created during my time at school. During my last semester of school, I was part of a group of students who created a game called…
