I'm looking at the same as you. At least 2gig of ram, 1.8ghz dual core and at least 120gig space.. but whilst I want it as a desktop replacement, I also don't want a massive screen and a clunky system. I also want less than a 13" screen and less than 2.2kg. The Dell XPS M1210 looks great to me -

My girlfriend accidently smashed my laptops screen, luckily within warrenty and so they sent me £650 for a new laptop and I spent £150 replacing the first laptops screen. Basically got a free laptop - fun times. She doesn't use it anymore =P I still prefer a desktop for all other work though. -
Re: Deteriorating eyesight.
I always try and have a light around that's brighter than my screens. And taking a break every now and then to stare out the window (or at least at something that's a different distance away and isn't a screen) helps a lot or go make a cup of tea every hour or so. Eyesight's doing alright so far but then bad eyesight… -

hmmm i might get it then... but u have to wonder if its worth it... playing on a 19" screen.... occasionaly split-screen multiplayer? oh, and: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6176397.htm...estnews;title;0 i hope they _still_ have the standard AV cables aswell lol! but now i can't wait to get me an HDMI compatible HDTV ! -

Dithering in Normal Map's Blue Channel

what are the max polycounts for psp?
Just got done with a conference call with a company we are doing a psp game with. They have the engine, and when I asked what the polycounts were for the levels they told me we could have a 20,000 vert level with 20,000 polys on screen at one time. That makes no sense, so if anyone has any general info for what the psp can… -

what kind of reference do you use when you do these studies? for studying faces it´s really nice to use the split screen feature in zbrush and load a scanned head to the other screen to use as reference.
