Even if you go for that type of wheel you still need some hard surface to separate the metal and the rubber. It looks like your missing the hard metal ring that ends the metal part and hold the rubber in place. (I hope that makes sense).
After watching the clip it makes me think that such an engine would be awesome for a non-linear Giants: Citizen Kabuto type of game. Lots of potential play styles, shit to do, seems fun. Interesting work, hope you find an artist. Reminds me of 'Infinity'.

Well you clearly are making guns! They look good to me as a non-expert in guns. I find the thumbnails with Military Conflict Vietnam disruptive.
