Hello polycount! This is my first time posting here, and I am excited to finally be joining the community. This is the first piece of art I have worked on in a few months, and I look forward to hearing what you all think. I chose the following Axe design from: http://www.warhammeronline.com/conceptart/index.php My aim for…
If I understand the question I think I may have had the same problem. I tried to move a cube's pivot and as an experiment touched the blue 'Q' below the pivot point and rotated the axes. From then on all my future cubes were born with crazy axes. I searched a good half hour for a solution when I finally saw the move tool…
I needed to teach myself ZBrush and what better way to practice, than doing it on an old beaten up Axe from the Warhammer universe :) I aim to make it into a Game asset, so enough detail inside ZBrush without overdoing it. I found this concept and started working: Here is where I'm at currently inside ZBrush: I'm not happy…

Hi guys. My Names Arron, I am currently trying to learn how to create highpoly models and the workflow to get highpoly to bake onto the low poly models and get them in game. I have no background into 3d art, just my dad is a AutoCAD professional and I have taken a interest in my spare time to get to learn 3ds max/ mudbox…
I think the problem with the 2nd one is due to the clash of the wispy style on the head of the ax and the short, jagged patterns on the handle... try swapping handles, i think the styles fit each other better. The simplicity of the first handle is just excellent. I second giving the leather wrapped grip a try. That 2nd…
Hi everyone, hope you all are doing well. I recently completed my #artstationchallenge entry for this year’s “Untamed : When animals ruled the world” 3D prop design (rendered) challenge. Created this Bee cleaver (Axe) using Zbrush, Substance painter and photoshop. Concept art by Adam “Forange” Törn More renders and…
hi every one long time watcher first time posting. I'm doing an axe from this Warhammer concept. Base mesh was done in 3ds max 9 and retopo in zbrush (had bad geometry and was sub-dividing wrong) before I unwrap it and take it back into Zbrush for detailing I'd love some crits from the community. current poly count is 1722…
Hi guys! I recently googled for this feature but had no chance to find something. Question: I want to move a subtool along two axes not just one. I am using Transpose line and press shift to move along one axis. It is simple when in 3ds max but in Zbrush this became a time consuming trouble to navigate many small details…
I have a feeling you didn't learn what PBR is yet. Read this. Directly from the Marmoset team. https://www.marmoset.co/posts/physically-based-rendering-and-you-can-too/ Feel free to ask them questions. They're very helpful people. Your axe design is okay, not interesting, but I understand it as a real life hatchet.…
