Hi all, I'm from alphawave Games (a small studio in the locale of Brisbane, Australia) and we're looking for a 3D Character Artist/Animator to hire on a freelance basis. Here's what your Gambit list should look like (ie. What you'll be doing) * Referencing the art and model sheets from the 2D Lead Artist, creating both low…
Id say so too, otherwise we'd be seeing Displacement all over the shop. Specter: max supports rendering those maps in mentalray with a plugin written by wayne robson. It was called Psycho Core, Wayne stopped distributing it becuase of the amount of support requests people were sending him (it was free).
Having a film with a darker tone has merit. And there is a market for such an approach, as is clear from the fans who enjoyed the movie. But immersing the audience in a serious, brooding tone does not necessarily make the film structurally sound. Saying that a movie was enjoyable or not is a very, very subjective approach.…
The diver woke up suddenly in this white, drole world after his plummet to death. Sitting up, he shrugged off the unbearable pain amassing in his joints. Pulling himself to his feet with a cracking noise, he glanced about. Nothing. Just white occupied this plain of existence. Was it heaven, was it hell? If this was truly…
I've posted this in the 'what are you working on' section, but just thought I'd post it up here as a WIP, so you guys can see (hopefully) a progression with this piece. Been working on a modular building set, as I realised my 'tools' project was going to be really similar to Scott Homer's environment that he's working on.…
You prolly could have stopped at step 2 or 3. By 4 and 5 it looks like you've overpainted the contrast and it ends up looking more stylized/cartoony. Not sure if that is what you were going for or not, but thought I'd point it out. *Edit* this post is aimed at Walnut, BTW.
It's been a while since I had to animate with Character Studio, but if I remember correctly, there is no way to stop the head and arms from counter-rotating / staying in their current rotation when twisting the spine? Similar for some other limbs/connections. Edit: Basically talking abou this:…
Hello everyone! I wish I had the courage to posted the W.I.P threads but I recently just wrapped up a project I've been working on for 3 months. Artstation post: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/0XxdLK Wanted to challenge myself with actually completing something to compliment the last year or two of mindless dead…
This is great! I too felt epics tool was amazing but with it being outside of photoshop it stopped me using it. It's off how just one more step can mean I won't use it. It's not like I'm being lazy it's more of a block than it seems on paper Anyway. Good job on this!
You didn't listen to the critique given already. Stop adding detail, step back to a lower poly and get those forms to flow like a Disney character model. Likewise, the same for the clothes. The clothes you've thrown on don't hide the blobby forms underneath, and the clothes themselves are just as blobby.
