Hello, My name is Ákos Halász, I'm currently a student at University of Abertay Dundee in Scotland and just finished my second year on an undergraduate game dev course. This is my first project with UDK and basically the second with 3D modeling. :) I worked on it for the whole year for two one semester module. I used the…
Lastest: I recently participated in Jeremy Huxley's vegetation course from CGMA and this was the outcome. Critique more than welcome :) I kind of got stuck with my initial composition since the course moves fairly fast and I didn't have time to revisit, but I'm not in love with it. As I polish/ re-work assets and textures,…
Hi, So well I'm really into Game of Thrones, but no, I'm not going for the Iron Throne! Instead I'll go across the sea, to the slave masters city of Meereen, and to the top of its great pyramid. The room and the throne itself are quite simple as you can see in the images, so I'm planning to maybe add some vegetation to…
Hello, I started working on this game environment in UE4 a while back to learn about foliage/vegetation. Now I'm almost finished with it, but for final presentation (which is WIP) I'm not sure if the lighting is catchy enough. I feel like there's room for improvement, but I don't see it. My current setup is: Movable…
Thank you all for your feedback! that's plenty to look into! Roof is still in progress indeed, and will be covered with some wiltered grass (which is for sure not going to be the spiky bad haircut from old shots ;) ). I am terrible at vegetation, and it does show -_- I do like the dock side of the render, so I will work on…
I think the prices are ridiculously low. 29$ a month you get 50 points, one material set costs 1 point which means you can get 50 materials a month at a price of like 58 cents per material. If you are running around wanting to test everything then off course you are going to run out of points quickly, but if you are smart…
Is this a troll? :P Well if not, at the moment there isn't really much to talk about,... besides very few vegetation. I definitely agree with LANKUS MAXIMUS, the name is really confusing and you should by all means change it if you aren't going for some Tolkien related theme. Don't take this personal but "I just didn't…
I made some of the changes Kroma! suggested a while back. created a few more props (comms tower, portable generator, cables etc.) and I also played around with adding foliage hanging from the walkway and growing up the supports. I also played with vegetation color for the ferns and ivy as well as general post processing…
It turned out great, I especially enjoy the night scene a lot. I do think though that the plants you have on one of the roofs are really the weakest part of this environment, and overall I think the scene would have been benefited greatly by more vegetation. Maybe surrounding a fountain or something with palms and flowers…
Yeah, I think I do suffer from a bit of airbrush-itus. I'll work on that in the future. I haven't read King of Elfland's Daughter, but I have heard of it. I generally stick to public domain works in my art, and unfortunately that falls on just the other side of it. Oh, the last image in my post there, the Thark caravan…
